For some years now, the unspoken rule has been to not allow superstar Canadian musician, Drake, near your football team, jersey, or star player. His songs may have gone gold hundreds of times, but when it comes to football, virtually everything he touches turns to the opposite of gold. Or so it seems.
Back in 2019, PSG defender, Kurzawa, was pictured with Drake before a league game against Lille. PSG, who went into that game as clear favorites, ended up losing 5-1.
That same year, the musician met with Sergio Aguero who took a picture with him and handed him his jersey. Then boom! Days later, he misses a penalty against Spurs in the Champions League quarter-final, and City are ultimately ousted from the tournament in very shocking fashion.
The curse also hit the other half of Manchester that same year. The Grammy winner met with Pogba, Lingard, and Rashford on the same day in early 2019. A triple threat? Surely it was going to work a treat. Man United’s next game was the FA Cup quarter-final against Wolves, and if you remember, Wolves sent them packing after beating them 2 goals to 1.
Aubameyang was the one who brought the curse to London after he attended a Drake concert at the 02 arena and met with the Canadian superstar. Of course, Arsenal lost their next game 1-nil to Everton.
In April of 2019, the curse landed in Germany. Drake met with Jadon Sancho, who you know was playing for Dortmund back then. At the time, Dortmund were at the top of the league going into a very important game against Bayern.
The picture of Drake and Sancho circulated the internet, and days after, Bayern annihilated Dortmund 5-nil and went on to win the Bundesliga title yet again.
