In this episode we speak with AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper coach Ashley Bayes.
Ashley played near to 600 games during his professional playing career at clubs like Torquay Utd, Exeter City and Leyton Orient.
One thing that always shone out in his game was the enthusiasm and will to play with a smile on his face.
These are values he now passes on to his goalkeepers as a coach at AFC Wimbledon.
Ashley joined AFC Wimbledon in 2003 as a player coach and has worked with a number of goalkeepers at the club during his time there, including Aaron Ramsdale (Sheffield Utd).
Jim and Ashley have a great conversation about the importance of enjoying your work as a player and coach, the attention to detail across your methods and ethos as a coach, always looking at ways to learn and expand your knowledge, how they analyse their goalkeepers and the role a professional goalkeeper coach has now at professional clubs.
A massive thank you Ashley for your time and a great chat.
Bringing you real talk, real advice from the world of goalkeeping.
