Have you ever asked the question, "where did the idea of government originate" or “what should be the limits of governmental authority?" Well, the truth is that the government is supposed to be the servant of the people—a servant who ensures the well-being of its citizens and punishes those who transgress God's laws. Yet government today is anything but a servant because Christians have sat idly by and watched while governments have snatched authority they were never meant to have - all the while setting themselves up as gods to be worshipped. But there is only one government and one governor who rules over all, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Christians must resist  unjust governments, this is not done through violence but through the gospel and authority of Jesus, since all human government is accountable to Him.
