This Psalms expresses the Lord’s goodness to the Faithful
Foolish Prayer
If I am to talk to my friend on the telephone, after I have dialed his number, I must wait for an answer. It is not a bit of use to ring up and then put the phone down. I must wait until I hear the "Hello!" or "Are you there?" from the other end. Now, it is exactly like that with prayer—we must give God time to reply. It is not a bit of use to offer up a prayer and then "hang up." That is a mistake people often make in prayer.
Prayer
Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.—John Bunyan
Experience Prayer
Prayer is the experience in which ideals are born. Sincere prayer brings a person to his highest peak of worth. When pouring his heart forth to God his spirit is most sensitive to the Divine Spirit. So it is that God's will for character and career is often most clearly felt and seen in the very moments of prayer. There flash upon us at such times glimpses of our possible selves.
