  • Mama a lot is riding on your prayers
A Mother’s prayer doesn’t stop after the baby is born, but it continue throughout the child life.

Your prayers do matter and have mighty power in God’s eyes.

    1. Pray that your kids connect with God.

    2. Pray that your children honor God.

    3. Pray they translate that honor into action.

    4. Pray that they are well-equipped to meet every daily need.

    5. Pray that your children forgive.

    6. Pray that they avoid temptation.

    7. Pray that they will have the resources to defeat everything negative.

    8. Pray that they will develop relationships that serve to strengthen them.

    9. Pray that love will define them.

    10. Pray for the strength of the family.

A Mother’s Prayer is a Prayer of Wisdom:

Wisdom is supreme so get wisdom.  And whatever else you get, get understanding.

  • Character develops in Silence
What were David's two greatest sins? Most people would reply, "His adultery with Bathsheba and his taking a census of the people," and their answers would be correct. As a result of his sin of numbering the people, David purchased property on Mount Moriah where he built an altar and worshiped the Lord (2 Samuel 24). David married Bathsheba and God gave them a son whom they named Solomon (2 Samuel 12:24-25). Now we have Solomon building a temple on David's property on Mount Moriah! God took the consequences of David's two worst sins-a piece of property and a son-and built a temple! "But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more" (Romans 5:20, NKJV). This isn't an encouragement for us to sin, because David paid dearly for both of those transgressions, but it is an encouragement to us go on serving God after we've repented and confessed our sins. Satan wants us to think that all is lost, but the God of all grace is still at work (1 Peter 5:10).

The outer structure (vv. 1-10, 36-38; 2 Chronicles 3). The ancient world had a "short cubit" or "common cubit" of almost eighteen inches and a "long cubit" of almost twenty-one inches. The common cubit was used for the temple (2 Chronicles 3:3), which means that the structure was ninety feet long, thirty feet wide, and forty-five feet high. A porch thirty feet wide and fifteen feet deep stood at the front of the temple, and a courtyard for the priests surrounded the sanctuary. It was separated from an outer courtyard by a wall composed of stone blocks and wood (v. 36; 2 Chronicles 4:9). Jeremiah 36:10 calls the court of the priests "the upper courtyard," which suggests that it stood higher than the outer courtyard. The doors of the temple faced east, as did the gate of the tabernacle.

  • Change your heart and not your garment
"Rend your hearts!" (people would repent of their sins and seek the Lord's help. The nation didn't know when this invasion would occur, so the important thing was for them to turn to the Lord now. But they must be sincere. It's easy to participate in a religious ceremony, tear your garments, and lament, but quite some-thing else to humbly confess your sins and bring to God a repentant heart (Matthew 15:8-9). "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart these, O God, You will not despise" (Psalms 51:17, NKJV).

The one thing that encourages us to repent and return to the Lord is the character of God. Knowing that He is indeed "gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love (Joel 2:13, NIV) ought to motivate us to seek His face. This description of the attributes of God goes back to Moses' meeting with the Lord on Mt. Sinai, when he interceded for the sinful nation of Israel (Exodus 34:6-7). You find echoes of it in Numbers 14:18 (another scene of Moses' intercession); Nehemiah 9:17; Psalms 86:15; 103:8, and 145:8; and Jonah 4:2. Such a gracious God would "turn and have pity" (Joel 2:14. NIV). Note that Joel's concern was that the people would once again have offerings to bring to the Lord, not just food on their tables.

  • Change your heart and not your garment
    Garment-rendering and other outward signs of religious emotion, are easily manifested and are frequently hypocritical;
but to feel true repentance is far more difficult, and consequently far less common. Men will attend to the most multiplied and minute ceremonial regulations--for such things are pleasing to the flesh--but true religion is too humbling, too heart-searching, too thorough for the tastes of the carnal men; they prefer something more ostentatious, flimsy, and worldly.
Outward observances are temporarily comfortable; eye and ear are pleased; self-conceit is fed, and self- righteousness is puffed up: but they are ultimately delusive, for in the article of death, and at the day of judgment, the soul needs something more substantial than ceremonies and rituals to lean upon. Apart from vital godliness all religion is utterly vain; offered without a sincere heart, every form of worship is a solemn sham and an impudent mockery of the majesty of heaven.

  • God is always There
David expresses is awe that God knew him, even to the minutes details. God looks at the heart.
David understands that nothing inside of him can be hidden from God.
God uses circumstance to limit David’s action.
    Cures for daily living:
Service to other people is another miracle drug of the soul.
A friend told me of a woman who complained about everything and everybody. She possessed an ugly spirit. Her husband developed a crippling disease. In addition to the work of her home, she had to take over his business and do his work. Her hours of work were long every day. Some thought she might break under the strain. Instead, her own strength developed and her spirit was cleansed.
We recall that Christ said, He that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. As long as one is wrapped up in himself, his soul gets sicker and sicker.
The presence of God is another miracle drug of the soul.
The Psalmist said, Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who health all thy diseases . We can go on leaving God out of our lives, but a sick, dying soul is the price we pay.

  • God answers prayer for His own Glory
This Psalms expresses the Lord’s goodness to the Faithful
    Foolish Prayer
If I am to talk to my friend on the telephone, after I have dialed his number, I must wait for an answer. It is not a bit of use to ring up and then put the phone down. I must wait until I hear the "Hello!" or "Are you there?" from the other end. Now, it is exactly like that with prayer—we must give God time to reply. It is not a bit of use to offer up a prayer and then "hang up." That is a mistake people often make in prayer.
    Prayer
Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.—John Bunyan
    Experience Prayer
Prayer is the experience in which ideals are born. Sincere prayer brings a person to his highest peak of worth. When pouring his heart forth to God his spirit is most sensitive to the Divine Spirit. So it is that God's will for character and career is often most clearly felt and seen in the very moments of prayer. There flash upon us at such times glimpses of our possible selves.

  • Go get the Corn
Corn- a general term representing all the commodities we usually describe by the words corn, grain, seeds, peas, beans.
God has already made the provision for you in advance, but the provision can only be released through faith.
Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.
First, ask for his help - Jesus says, "Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy." (John 16:24, NLT) Here's a good rule: Before you pay for it, pray for it. Give God a chance to provide before you go out and charge it. You probably depend more on your charge card than you do Jesus Christ.
    • Why does God want me to ask? So he can give.
    • Why does he want to give? So I can receive.
    • Why does he want me to receive? So I'll be full of joy.
    • Why does he want me to be full of joy? It's a great advertisement for Jesus Christ. Joyful Christians are a positive testimony.
