God Calling: Vocation Vibes

The Little Sisters of the Poor attending the SEEK24 Conference—the theme of which was “Be the Light” (Mt. 5:14)—chat with young adults they encountered at the St. Louis event. College students share their reactions to seeing all the vibrant priests and religious present, identify the special gifts that God has also given them to shine forth among his people, and express how the witness of consecrated persons truly inspires them to “Be the Light” in our world. Sister Carolyn from the Little Sisters of the Poor and Fr. Anthony Federico, Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Hartford, discuss “the bold ask” in vocations prayer and ministry, as well as the many reasons for a realistic hope for the flourishing of priestly and religious vocations among those whom God is calling in our day. Active ‘next steps’ that discerners can take to explore the call are also proposed. For further information: [email protected].

If God is indeed calling, then who is picking up these days? Sister Carolyn and Sister Ann Marguerite from the Little Sisters of the Poor discuss the amazing qualities of today’s vocation discerners, the challenges they face, and the importance of encouraging people to “pick up” and hear the Lord’s voice in their hearts, not letting God’s call go to voicemail.
