God Centered Life

God says to them, "I will give you your heart's desire if you will keep my covenant." The great truth of the book of Judges is that God wants the best for you, but that you need to turn, follow Him, and receive it.

For us the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the fact of history that establishes the truth of Christianity. Yet skeptical philosophers of our modern age think that no one can believe in this miracle anymore. Pastor Josh teaches about the importance of the resurrection.

So many people today wonder why God would judge us and why He can't just forgive us. It all seems so unfair to them. Pastor Josh discusses the need to focus on the cross in order to find where love and mercy meet, and where justice and truth triumph.

Here we are told there is a time to kill. While there may be a time to plant or laugh or mourn, surely Ecclesiastes cannot be telling us to look out for the right time to bump off our neighbors!

Every time the gospel is written or preached, there is a division between those who receive it and those who do not. God's kindness is constantly on display so that we might be lead to repentance.

You are made for more than a mild life of unexceptional indifference. You are made for God, who is fulfilling in every possible way.

We excuse our own genuine lack of commitment to God by accusing others of a lack of commitment. Pastor Josh teaches about the excuses we use to avoid doing business with God.

If you're in Christ, there is no condemnation, but you do need to embrace conviction of sin. The difference between condemnation and conviction is that conviction always leads to light and hope because Christ is sufficient even for that sin.

When we realize our own sin, not just judge someone else's, then we can appreciate Jesus for who he is and what he did in a far greater and more profound way. Jesus offers us hope and joy.

The author of Ecclesiastes is the most successful man imaginable. He has everything we could ever want and then some; he is living the dream. And yet, he says, without God, it's a nightmare.
