God Centered Life

The Bible stands against the myth of human divinity. We are not infinite; we are mortal. We have limits; we have failures. We tend to think that we are the be-all and end-all of life, and yet when we really center our lives on God, then we find true fulfillment.

Paul moves to a final recap of his core points. It is right at the heart of the truth of God summarized in a way that is accessible and tangible for us today.

Paul underlines his message here and puts it in bold. He is visually highlighting everything he's been saying about the truth of the gospel for his readers.

It is important to take inventory on where our lives are actually going. We shouldn't just drift through life, but think about the consequences of the choices we make in relationship to our faith and our lives.

The Bible says that we reap what we have sown. It really will not work out as someone once joked: We spend six days sowing our wild oats and then go to church and pray for crop failure.

One of the devil's great tactics is to get God's people arguing about things that don't really matter. We need to keep the main thing the main thing!

Paul says that a grace-filled community is restorative; a legalistic community judges people. We can only have a healthy community once the gospel is fully established.

When a politician promises something, we don't expect much. But when God promises us heaven, do we begin to live with the spirit of heaven in us?

Our task to learn how to have joy and love and all of the fruits of the Spirit is of great significance so that we can avoid having a fake religion, saying one thing and doing another. We want to live in a way that is authentic.

God does not guide us like a GPS in determining trivial life decisions. But he does assert His gentle pressure upon us against the desires of the flesh, and we are to yield to His Spirit.
