God Centered Life

Trust is resting in God's goodnesssure and certain that he will do it by his grace. And that's why when you read the stories of the great men of faith you find that they were sinful people who messed up. Faith is not about being perfectly good, faith is about knowing you're not and resting in God's favor.

The book of Philemon is a masterpiece of persuasion. Paul appeals to the readers, which is always better for gaining internal transformation rather than getting begrudging cooperation with what you have told them to do. The end point of his appeal is something of real, social, practical implication. The gospel must have that kind of impact in our world today, too.
