We've all struggled with wanting to be in total control of our lives at times.

 

But we need to walk with Jesus, not alone. 

 

God built us that way.

 

We need to let Him be Lord and not attempt to be Lord of our own lives, because we are not good lords.

 

In his confession prayer, David says, "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow."

 

It's interesting to study the history of this word hyssop. It's actually a weed that's very common in Israel and all over the middle east. 

 

And it was used on the Passover night when Israel left Egypt. 

 

They dipped the hyssop weed in the blood of the sacrificial lamb, and they sprinkled it on the doorpost of their home.

 

And that kept the death angel away from their house that night.

 

This, of course, is a picture of Jesus dying in our place and taking our sins upon himself and away from us, satisfying the Father's need for justice.

 

They dipped that hyssop weed in the blood and sprinkled it, just as the Holy Spirit takes the blood of Jesus and sprinkles it upon our hearts at the moment he regenerates us as we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

 

In this episode, I'm going to talk about why we need confession, as well as some common misunderstandings about sin.

 

When we confess our sins, our spirits are renewed. 

 

This is where we find true success in life. And that true success, of course, includes our stock trading.
