When we think of sexy photos, usually the image of an Orthodox Jewish woman doesn't come to mind. In fact, that would seem totally taboo. That's why it may come as a surprise that a woman who covers her hair, doesn't expose her knees or shoulders, and follows the laws of tzniut (modesty), would bare it all for a boudoir shoot. But for boudoir photographer, Rebecca Sigala, it's not a surprise at all. Though women who follow strict laws of modesty steer clear of any sexual suggestiveness in their public life, it would be a mistake to assume Orthodox women don't embrace sexuality in their private life. All women want and need to feel sexy, which is why Rebecca's goal with intimate photography is to empower and celebrate women and their bodies.

In this episode, I speak with Rebecca about the power of boudoir photography for self-love and acceptance, how she paved the way for this art-form in her Orthodox community, and how she believes we should teach the next generations about modesty and sexuality.

Let's keep the conversation going!
