We recently attended a missions conference in southern Thailand where a number of workers among Muslims in Southeast Asia were gathering. There we met several MBBs (Muslim background believers) from Indonesia and Malaysia who told incredible stories of what God was doing through them and through their people. This is part one of a three part series of many of these stories. Literally tens of thousands of new believers and thousands of new churches are springing to life all of the Indonesian archipelago over the past ten years! You don’t want to miss these stories of Muslim background believers faithfulness and fruitfulness. Incredible miracles of God’s intervention permeate these church planting movements. You will be amazed at what the Lord is doing among these precious people.

Hello, God Network News fans to part three of a new series that we’re starting for the next few episodes on Unreached Peoples of Africa. We’ve got some really amazing testimonies of missionaries going forth, against all odds into the least reached people groups of Africa.

Africa used to be known as “the dark continent” but actually Africa now is over 60% Christian! There are still many Unreached People Groups there, most of them are Muslims and would live north of the “Sahel” or centre region of Africa. From North Africa, all the way down to Chad, Niger and Mali and other areas where Fulani groups are living. All of these people groups have never had a chance to hear the gospel in a clear way, and we have a friend named Jeremy who has gone with teams to a number of these least reached people groups. In this episode he shares with us some amazing testimonies of what God is doing. Many are still unreached but some are beginning to come to the Lord.

Some have lost their lives because of their faith in Jesus, but God is nevertheless getting Glory in this place and we believe what was once called the dark continent will be “the continent of light”, a light to the nations as missionaries go forth to the whole world bringing the gospel to the least reached peoples and least reached nations. Join Jeremy as he tells these incredible stories of Gods faithfulness and miracles that the Lord is doing among these people groups.

Cal Kohnke of Create International speaking at the US Center for World Mission shares several stories of what God is doing in Asia. He explains how they go about producing indigenous gospel films in the heart language of the people groups using actors and important elements of the culture. The results they have seen in the first several years of their efforts in Asia is very encouraging. A number of unreached people have come to Christ even before the films have been fully completed and released to the missionaries work in the area. They are beginning to see initial movements to Christ among some of the most devout Muslim groups in Indonesia and other parts of Asia. Don’t miss these exciting testimonies of God’s miraculous faithfulness through Create International. Ralph Winter (December 8, 1924 – Wed., May 20, 2009) was an American missiologist and Presbyterian missionary who helped pioneer Theological Education by Extension, raised the debate about the role of the church and mission structures and became well known as the advocate for pioneer outreach among unreached people groups. He was the founder of the U.S. Center for World Mission (USCWM), William Carey International University, and the International Society for Frontier Missiology.[1] His 1974 presentation at the Congress for World Evangelization in Lausanne, Switzerland – an event organized by American evangelist Billy Graham – was a watershed moment for global mission.[2] It was during this presentation that Winter shifted global mission strategy from a focus on political boundaries to a focus on distinct people groups. Winter argued that instead of targeting countries, mission agencies needed to target the thousands of people groups worldwide, over half of which have not been reached with the gospel message. Billy Graham once wrote: “Ralph Winter has not only helped promote evangelism among many mission boards around the world, but by his research, training and publishing he has accelerated world evangelization.”[3] In 2005, Winter was named by Time magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America.[2] Dr. Ray Tallman, shortly after Winter’s death, described him as “perhaps the most influential person in missions of the last 50 years and has influenced missions globally more than anyone I can think of.”[4] This is most likely the first page that you will see when you respond to any of my invitations or messages to you about new episodes of our podcast. An interview done by my friend and Missions Research Scholar – Justin Long (https://www.justinlong.org) Dr Todd Johnson is responsible for the World Christian Database (WCD) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Boston, USA) – I first met Todd in Pasadena, Ca. in 1986 working at the USCWM (Frontier Ventures) – PHD at WCIU (where wife and I received our Masters) – Began working under Dr. David Barrett (foremost researcher on world christianity)(developed together the World Christian Database) – Todd and David publish the much anticipated World Christian Encyclopedia (1982)(3rd Edition) – Todd authored Atlas of Global Christianity (2005) The Atlas of Global Christianity is a thorough visual reference of the changing status of global Christianity over the 100 years since the epoch-making ‘Edinburgh 1910’ World Missionary Conference. It is the first scholarly atlas to depict the 20th century shift of Christianity from the Global North to the Global South. Contextual information on world issues and world religions is included. The atlas is ecumenical in that it covers every Christian tradition including Anglicans, Independents, Marginals, Orthodox, Protestants, and Roman Catholics. This is the first atlas to incorporate historical essays on Christianity 1910-2010 by scholars from each region of the world. Included is a CD that contains all maps and graphs ready for classroom use. – Todd has authored several other scholarly books on the topic of Christianity and Missions not least of which is his new book, “Our Global Families: Christians Embracing Common Identity in a Changing World”. This tremendous story includes two amazing facts. Iranians by the thousands are coming to Jesus especially in Europe, and many of those new believers are returning to Iran and seeing incredible response and many church planted all over the country. Listen to this testimony by a Dutch missionary who led a Iranian man to Christ who then goes on to lead thousands into the Kingdom. A short but exciting story of a musical celebrity from a very unreached people group comes to Christ and uses his talent in music and drama to share the gospel message in a powerful way to his own people. This is a great case study for the strategy of using contextual arts and media to see a movement of unreached peoples to Jesus. Enjoy this exciting testimony!
