Today's conversation started with noticing how often women from Christian background find themselves disconnected from their bodies, desire, turn-on and pleasure.  We talk about how this disconnection brings about difficulty identifying consent within oneself and makes it confusing to figure out if you're doing something for someone else more than for yourself.  Finally, we offer our best practices for getting in touch with your turn-on.  While this episode uses primarily language referring to women, what we talk about can be relevant to people of any gender.

In this episode we interview future PhD, Maddie Jarrett on Theology of Disability.  As a woman with Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, she uses her lived experiences with physical disability and her journey to finding the imago dei in her disabled body as a starting point for a theology of disability.  This conversation reframed self-care in a profound way, increased our understanding of disability, and toward the end we even got into the ethical ramifications of prenatal genetic testing.  It's such an important conversation, and we are so luck to have Maddie on our show.

We want this podcast to be a place where we talk about the hard topics that may not be talked about elsewhere.  This week we decided to talk about what American Christianity, White Supremacy, and Trump Supporters storming the Capitol have to do with one another.  We get our hands dirty in this episode and start by naming our shared privilege as white cis-women.  We know we won't be talking about this perfectly, but we also know that trying and learning how we can do better is the only way we grow, so listen in courageously.  Feel free to take breaks when you need to.  As always, we talk about topics that are sensitive, so be mindful of who might be around you listening.
