There’s a story in the Bible’s book of Numbers about a prophet of God, Balaam, who was turning a deaf ear to God’s wishes, even to the point of not seeing God’s angel. So, to get his attention God took extreme measures and spoke through his Donkey to open Balaam’s eyes and ears. While God may not regularly use animals, He does use many languages to communicate His will for us.
This month Rick Atchley, lead minister with The Hills Church and their multiple campuses, is leading us in a series of messages: It is Good to Hear Your Voice. Jesus said, My sheep listen to my voice, and they follow me. Rick’s premise through this series is: Faithful following requires careful listening, and careful listening requires intention and training.
As I understand it, one of the jobs of a hearing-aid is to reduce the background noise and give emphasis to voices needing to be heard.
So here’s Rick with a spiritual hearing-aid of sorts
