What happens when life’s emergencies feel like a roaring lion chasing you down, and you don't have the time or emotional energy for a long, polished prayer?

Join Jaime on the Praying Christian Women Podcast for a timely and encouraging devotional on Psalm 70, a short, punchy chapter that gives us biblical permission to cut straight to the chase and cry out for God’s immediate rescue.

Acting as an urgent, standalone remix of the final verses of Psalm 40—much like singing the powerful chorus of a song on repeat—Psalm 70 strips away the formalities of structured prayer formats when crisis hits. Jaime explores the fascinating shift in Hebrew language within this passage, where David calls upon both Elohim—the mighty Creator who brings order out of chaos—and Yahweh—the deeply personal, covenant-keeping Father who knows His children by name.

Addressing the common fear that repeatedly begging God to hurry demonstrates a lack of faith, Jaime contrasts the beauty of persistent prayer against the danger of taking matters into our own hands like Abram and Sarai. She reminds us that just like the persistent widow in the Gospels, knocking urgently on heaven's door is actually what keeps us anchored in trust rather than scrambling to force our own solutions.

Come ready to lay down your most time-sensitive burdens—the pressing crises, the relentless opposition, and the desperate moments where you feel like time is running out. Let this episode remind you that crying out "Lord, do not delay!" is not an act of doubt, but an invitation for our Deliverer to step into your chaos. Because He is both the sovereign Creator of the universe and a loving Father who hears your urgent cries, who guards you from stumbling into your own fixes, and whose perfect timing will never fail those who seek Him.
