Dan had a fun, but rough, weekend in Moab. After falling ass over tea kettle at the bowling alley, he drank WAAAAYYY too much the night before spending four hours on the road driving home, but sucked it up to do the show - in which we cover the following stories:

Marissa Alexa McCool is a 31-year-old transwoman. She is working on her fourth book, has five podcasts, has appeared in countless other podcasts, and we were finally able to get her on the Godless Rebelution. She recently moved and was having some technical difficulties, so the interview isn't as long as we would have liked, but that just means we'll have to get back on the show sometime very soon!
We go through a lot of recent news headlines, offer some recent science information, and Matt becomes a double-agent.

This episode isn't our usual fare. It's a talk that was organized by the Utah Chapter of The Satanic Temple as part of their Religious Education Series, which was aimed at analyzing religion throughout history and how it affects (some would say "infects") various aspects of our modern lives. The talk was presented by Megan Kennedy, who holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Religious Studies from the University of Utah. She is a professional writer and photographer.
Ryan was kind enough to bring his filming gear, so we also have video of the presentation available on our YouTube channel. Ryan wired Megan with a lavalier (one of those fancy lapel microphones) for great sound, but the rest of the audio was captured on a mobile recording device and a microphone mounted to the top of Ryan's video camera, so it's not fantastic - but it's decent.
We're currently trying to schedule Megan as a guest for a future episode or episodes. She's got a lot of great information to share!
We'll be publishing episode #159 this weekend for our Patreon supporters, and on Monday for our regular feed.

Our intrepid field reporter, Alexander Scholl, once again prepared a whole lot of great information for us to share with you, dear listener. If news from the last week in politics has left you reeling, we're here to help cut through the noise.
With the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate ties between Russia and the Trump campaign and administration, it's really starting to look like the beginning of the end for the orange menace.

Lloyd Evans is an ex-Jehovah's Witness, the author of The Reluctant Apostate, and is the Senior Editor for JWSurvey.org. He stayed up super late to join us via Skype from his home in Croatia to talk to us about Jehovah's Witnesses and the work he is doing after leaving the faith.

Roy Jeffs is the son of Warren Jeffs - the infamous cult leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who is currently serving life plus 20 years in prison after his conviction for child sexual assault.
The FLDS cult still practices polygamy as an offshoot of the mainstream LDS Church which "officially" abandoned plural marriage on Earth (it will still be practiced in the afterlife) in 1890.
Roy fled the FLDS cult three years ago, and his story has been featured nationally by such sources as CNN and The Daily Beast. He is now an open atheist living in Salt Lake City, and he joined us in-studio for a wide-ranging interview.
Patreon subscribers get more than 45 minutes of extras this week, including an extended interview with Roy, and a round-table discussion of ridiculous relgious questions from Yahoo Answers.
