Everyone has a filter system in their life - how they process decisions and results. This can be past experiences, self-help material, or personal successes or failures. While these methods may produce fruit, they don't produce anything real or lasting that will stand the test of time. 

In contrast, good, lasting fruit comes from a healthy root system. Therefore, using Jeremiah 17:7-8 as a foundation, Pastor John encourages us to create filters from a God's perspective. After all, God knows what is going on in our life, where we are, and what we need. Further, He'll use our every, ordinary lives and circumstances to teach us how to do this.
