In this episode, Brett Johnson talks about how sometimes your success will attract jealousy in your opponents. When you ask God to bless you, it is important to choose to have broad shoulders.
"Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” - Ex 1: 8-10
Brett also touches on how other times you are just a part of a larger span of history; your story has its context in His story. If you want to get into God’s business, it is no longer all about you and your business, career, wealth, or legacy. Ultimately, the leading of God to Egypt nearly 430 years before had resulted in infanticide and genocide.
“Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” - Ex 1:22
