  • Flawed & Chosen - Mary of Magdalene - When God Chooses You by Name

This episode explores Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the risen Jesus in John 20, showing how her story becomes a blueprint for our walk with Christ. Stefanie explains that Mary stands outside the tomb weeping with raw, honest emotion — teaching us to bring our real grief, confusion, and fear to Jesus. Mary searches for Him in the last place she saw Him, symbolizing how we often look for God in old seasons or cling to what He has already finished.

When Jesus appears, Mary doesn’t recognize Him until He speaks her name — showing that we know Jesus not by sight, but by His voice, and we only discern that voice by staying close to Him. When Mary clings to Jesus, He tells her not to hold on because resurrection requires release; we must let go of old identities, old expectations, and old versions of Jesus to receive new life.

Jesus then sends Mary as the first witness of the resurrection, activating her purpose through intimacy. Her calling flows from relationship, not status.

Stefanie closes by reminding listeners that Mary teaches us to bring our emotions to Jesus, stay close even when confused, recognize His voice, release old seasons, and step boldly into our calling — knowing He calls each of us by name.

  • Flawed & Chosen - Judge Samson - When God lets you fall: Part 2

Samson hides in the cave at Etam, where he finally surrenders to God and begins to see his calling clearly. The men of Judah, blinded by fear, bind the very deliverer God sent — yet when Samson is handed over, the Spirit of God empowers him, the ropes fall off, and he defeats a thousand Philistines with a simple donkey’s jawbone, showing that God can use even discarded things as powerful tools.

After the battle, Samson becomes thirsty and cries out to God. God splits a rock and gives him water, restoring his strength and marking a turning point that leads into twenty years of leadership. But Samson stops doing the daily spiritual work, and his old weaknesses return. Delilah emotionally pressures him until he breaks, revealing his secret. Samson drifts from God slowly, not suddenly, and loses his strength.

Blinded and bound, Samson learns dependence and discipline again. When brought before thousands, he prays humbly for the first time, asking God to remember him. He offers his life to fulfill his calling, collapsing the pillars and defeating more enemies in his death than in his life.

The message closes by urging listeners to recognize where they stand — in courage, in calling, or in a cave — and choose their next chapter with humility, daily surrender, and closeness to God.

  • Flawed & Chosen - Judge Samson Lion to Jawbone: Part 1

This episode explores Samson’s early story in Judges 14–15, showing how God reveals calling, strength, and purpose even in private moments — and how misuse of those gifts can lead to chaos. Stefanie explains that Samson’s first encounter with the lion was a private revelation of his calling: the Spirit of God empowered him, and he defeated an impossible enemy with his bare hands. The lion symbolizes attack; the honey found later symbolizes hidden blessing, revelation, and nourishment that God reserves until we are ready to receive it. Samson’s return to the carcass shows that healing often comes before revelation — God hides sweetness in struggle, and past battles can become future nourishment for us and those around us.

Stefanie then shows how Samson’s arrogance turned the blessing into a riddle meant to impress others. His wife, pressured by fear, manipulated him emotionally, leading to betrayal, broken trust, and the collapse of their marriage. Samson reacted out of anger, misusing his God‑given strength to kill men, burn fields, and escalate conflict. Each reaction pulled him further from wisdom until he reached a cave — a symbol of isolation, emotional exile, and crossroads. Stefanie explains that caves represent the moment when life breaks us: we can either break further or break open toward God.

She closes by encouraging listeners to read Judges 14–15 themselves and let God reveal personal insights. Tomorrow’s episode will continue Samson’s story from the cave, exploring his weakness, God’s mercy, and the turning point that follows.

  • Flawed & Chosen - Deborah and Jael - Courage and Humility

This episode highlights the courage, calling, and leadership of two women God used to save an entire nation. Stefanie explains that during the chaotic era of the judges, when Israel repeatedly drifted from God, He raised Deborah — a prophetess and judge who led openly and faithfully from beneath a palm tree, symbolizing righteousness, resilience, and peace. Deborah didn’t hide her calling; she lived it publicly and confidently.

She shows how Deborah not only delivered God’s word but stepped into the battlefield herself, strengthening Barak with her presence and prophetic clarity. Deborah fought with God’s voice, not a sword.

Then Stefanie turns to Jael — a woman who didn’t know Deborah’s prophecy but responded courageously when the enemy commander Sisera entered her tent. Jael acted boldly, obeying God in a moment she never expected, and fulfilled the prophecy she never heard. Deborah and Jael never planned their partnership, yet God aligned their actions perfectly: Deborah led the nation, Jael finished the battle.

Stefanie emphasizes Deborah’s humility — she honored Jael publicly, celebrating her courage instead of claiming the victory for herself. Both women were married, yet neither allowed culture, gender expectations, or fear to silence their calling. Their obedience shows that women can lead, teach, fight spiritual battles, prophesy, and change nations.

She closes by encouraging listeners to lead from their “palm tree”: be open, accessible, obedient, and bold. Use your gifts publicly, honor other women, listen for God’s voice, and believe He can use you powerfully — married or single. Deborah believed God completely; Jael obeyed courageously. Together they show that women are not side characters in God’s story, but leaders, warriors, prophets, mothers, and deliverers.

  • Flawed & Chosen - Joshua When Nothing Moves

This episode shows how Joshua’s story teaches us that God’s presence is the foundation of courage, obedience, and breakthrough. Before God ever gave Joshua instructions about Jericho, He anchored him in one truth: “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” Joshua wasn’t chosen for charisma or force — he was chosen because he stayed close to God. His leadership was built on quiet consistency, not performance.

Stefanie explains that Jericho’s walls looked impossible, yet God gave Joshua a simple, almost unimpressive command: walk around the city day after day. Nothing happened at first — no cracks, no shaking, no signs of progress. But Jericho teaches us that silence doesn’t mean God is inactive. He works internally, invisibly, preparing the breakthrough long before we see it.

Joshua didn’t make the walls fall. His obedience positioned him for what God would do. The same is true for us: we don’t force miracles; we simply walk faithfully even when nothing seems to move.

Stefanie closes by reminding listeners that if they’re in a season where everything looks still, God is still working. His presence hasn’t left, His promise hasn’t changed, and simple obedience is never wasted. When God’s timing meets our faithfulness, the walls fall — not because we were powerful, but because God was present.

  • Flawed & Chosen - Moses Foreshadow of Jesus

This episode shows how Moses’ entire life points forward to Jesus. Stefanie explains that the Old Testament isn’t just history — it’s a prophetic portrait. When Jesus walked with the disciples on the road to Emmaus, He revealed that Moses and the prophets were all speaking about Him. Moses becomes the shadow; Jesus is the substance.

She highlights how Moses acted as a mediator, interceding for Israel after the golden calf and even offering himself for their forgiveness. Jesus fulfills this perfectly by actually giving His life on the cross and becoming the eternal mediator between God and humanity.

Moses delivered Israel from Egypt, but Jesus delivers humanity from sin and death — the true bondage behind the symbol of Egypt. Moses reflected God’s glory after meeting Him on the mountain, but Jesus radiates glory in His own nature, revealed fully at the transfiguration. Moses restored a broken covenant; Jesus becomes the new covenant. Moses offered repeated sacrifices; Jesus becomes the final sacrifice. Moses stood in the gap once at the Red Sea; Jesus stands in the gap forever.

Stefanie shows how every major moment in Moses’ story — the exodus, the serpent lifted in the wilderness, the parted sea, the shining face, the veil — all point to Jesus’ greater work: salvation, resurrection, and direct access to God.

She closes with a prayer asking God to help listeners see Jesus clearly in Scripture and trust Him as mediator, deliverer, sacrifice, and glory — the One Moses was always pointing toward.

  • God’s Approval vs People’s Approval

This episode explores the tension every believer faces: choosing God’s approval over people’s applause. Stefanie uses Paul’s story to show how deeply rooted the desire for human validation can be. Before following Jesus, Paul lived for reputation, status, and religious applause — his feet were in the temple, but his heart was in performance. Everything changed when God confronted him on the road to Damascus, and Paul surrendered with one question: “Lord, what do You want me to do?” That surrender marked his true conversion.

Stefanie explains that we often live the same way — physically present with God, but emotionally chasing likes, comments, and recognition. People’s approval feels instant and measurable, while God’s approval feels distant and unseen. Jesus warns that our heart follows our treasure, and if our treasure is applause, our heart will chase it.

She offers practical ways to shift the heart toward God: staying in Scripture, praying honestly, practicing small acts of obedience, fasting from noise, and serving without being seen. These habits break the addiction to validation and realign the heart with God.

Stefanie closes by reminding listeners that Paul traded applause for God’s approval — and never regretted it. Freedom comes when we stop living for people’s expectations and start living for God’s calling, a reward worth more than any compliment or emoji this world can offer.

  • Pressure to plan the Future

This episode reminds listeners that the pressure to know their future, make perfect decisions, and avoid mistakes can feel overwhelming — but God invites us into a different way of living. Stefanie uses Proverbs 3:5–6 to show that trusting God and trying to control everything cannot coexist. When we cling tightly to our own plans, we often miss what God is trying to reveal.

She explains that sometimes God is speaking, but we can’t hear Him because we’re attached to our own ideas, timing, or version of the future. God leads step by step, not all at once, because we aren’t ready for the full picture. The present is where He prepares us — strengthening, maturing, and shaping the character needed for what’s ahead.

Stefanie encourages listeners to release the pressure of having everything figured out. God doesn’t require the whole plan — just the next step and a heart willing to follow.

  • Pressure to be Strong

This episode explores what real strength looks like for a believer — not the kind that avoids hardship, but the kind that stays faithful when following God costs something. Stefanie reminds listeners that the disciples were ordinary people with fears and responsibilities, yet they followed Jesus knowing it could cost them everything. Their lives show that faith isn’t proven by ease, but by who we cling to when life gets hard.

She highlights Paul’s ministry, marked by suffering, danger, betrayal, and even a “thorn in the flesh” God chose not to remove. Instead of taking the struggle away, God strengthened Paul through it, teaching him that divine power is made perfect in human weakness.

Stefanie challenges listeners to consider whether they would follow God even when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or costly. She emphasizes that the disciples weren’t strong and Paul wasn’t strong — God was. And the same God who carried them carries us now. Our weakness isn’t a failure; it’s an invitation to depend on Him.

She closes by encouraging listeners to ask where God is calling them to trust Him even when it’s hard, reminding them that Jesus is still worth following — not because it’s easy, but because He is worthy.

  • Relationships

This episode teaches that real, Christ‑like love begins with letting God shape both our thoughts and our actions. Stefanie explains how God instructed the Israelites to keep Scripture on their forehead and arm — symbols of allowing God’s word to guide the way we think and the way we live. She connects this to 1 Corinthians 13, reminding listeners that agape love is patient, kind, humble, protective, and persevering — qualities we don’t naturally produce without God’s help.

She encourages listeners to imagine carrying God’s definition of love the way the Israelites carried Scripture: patience guiding the mind, kindness guiding behavior, humility shaping perspective, and boundaries shaping actions. When God’s word stays close, love becomes intentional rather than automatic, and we begin loving from overflow instead of pressure.

Stefanie closes by inviting listeners to ask God to help them carry His love in both their thoughts and actions throughout the week.
