Have you ever looked at someone else's life and thought, "That's not fair"?
In Matthew 20:1–16, Jesus tells the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Those who worked all day receive the same wage as those who arrived at the very end. To us, it can feel unfair. But Jesus uses this story to challenge the way we measure God's generosity.
This Gospel reminds us that God's goodness isn't limited by what we think we deserve. When comparison and resentment take over, Jesus invites us to trust God's generosity and rejoice in the blessings of others.
A reflection on comparison, jealousy, grace, God's generosity, and learning to trust God's timing.
Sit with one of these for a bit:
- Where am I comparing my life to someone else's?
- Is someone else's blessing making it harder for me to see my own?
- Can I trust God's goodness even when I don't understand His timing?
