In this passage we learn that rebellion and disobedience will sooner or later cause the wrath of God to be kindled and exacted.

This portion of scripture epitomizes what was wrong and what is wrong today with the people of God and that is, we are too reactive, as opposed to being more proactive, when it comes to our obedience to God and His plan of salvation for humanity. There is an old adage that seems to be applicable here: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.

In this excerpt of biblical history we learn that God was very displeased with His people. As then, even now, the people of God gradually move away from the instructions of God. This provoked God then and now, to bring adversity of one sort or another in the lives of His people. God reminded His people then of the great blessings He put in their lives and also now by these scriptures how He has been ignored and transgressions increase. Therefore, Covid-19 should get the attention of us all that this is God at work because of transgressions.

This scripture has been given us by the inspiration of God to provide us with the very evident proof that Jesus Christ had kept his promise that he would rise again on the third day. There is an explanation of how things happened to let people know that it had to be God. The women that had come to put the burial ointments on Jesus’s body were instructed by the angel from the Lord to go tell Peter and the other disciples that He had kept His promise, and that He would rise. There are some skeptics today that still believe that He did not. However, if people would go on to follow his teaching and accept it rather than rejecting it, they could experience the baptism of the Holy Ghost as he promised that he would do; that was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, and since, for everyone that sought him in sincerity and in truth.

In this passage of scripture we learn that God inspired Isaiah, His prophet to prophesy to His people and to let them know that in their future prosperity was coming. But when prosperity comes wisdom warns to not take God out of the equation.

As we live from day today, and that by the grace of God we will be confronted with adversities, but overcome them with blessings. There will be multitudes of things that happen in our lives, sometimes to exhort and encourage us, sometimes they will beset us; but we will perserve if we live by the Holy scriptures and allow God’s promises to be fulfilled.

Joshua here reminds the people of God as he is in his last days to not allow themselves to be entangled with people that will turn them away from the doctrine of God. He is admonishing them to hold fast to God and the plan of God; for this is where our wisdom and understanding comes from. Finally he lets them know if they turn away from the word of God and follow after the new philosophies and doctrines of those that rebel against God He will exact his judgment upon them.

In this excerpt from the book of Deuteronomy we learn and are admonished by God, to remain obedient to His instructions for prosperous living and sole worship of Him alone. If we follow the instructions of God He will withhold no good thing from us.

In this passage of scripture we are reminded that when we walk in obedience to the charge and the command of God He will always be there for us. God uses, as always, His spiritual leaders to speak to His sheep by the Holy Ghost. When we humble ourselves and walk in obedience to the commands of God we shall do well.

Here we find instructions from God as to how desires for us to live among ourselves as his chosen people. And let’s remember that God has not asked anything of us, his people, that he has not provided the means to make it happen.
