All Christian people should take wisdom from this chapter of Paul’s second letter to his spiritual son Timothy to be encouraged in the midst of adversity, hardships, trials, and opposition. Just as God got Paul through and out of all of the things that he was confronted with he will do it for earnest believer today.
Let’s accept the wisdom provided for humanity here and apply it to how we live our lives. Seek God for understanding and acceptance of His plan of salvation.
As children of the day and not of the night as children of the light and not of the dark we move forward with faith in God, living by the gospel of Jesus Christ as it has been taught. We cannot walk as others walk, in the vanity of their minds, living by their own imaginations.
Yield not to the temptations of the eloquent speeches and the charisma of those that are teaching and preaching contrary to what is written in the Gospel of Christ. Contrary to what is written is of the Antichrist.
Paul exhorts the people of God to hold fast to the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and its intended purpose. He warns the church to be alert for those that don’t know the intended purpose of the gospel and don’t know that they don’t know.
When it comes to Christianity who you are and where you are from has no special privileges for a person’s origin. A person must be born again of the spirit and of the water.
Be careful what you hear and from whom you hear it. The promises of God and proven and true. The things of God are spiritually discerned. Therefore, seek God to be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Paul is admonishing the Saints to be careful to live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He sought to encourage the Corinthian church to do that which is good and decline to do that which not good.
Let us learn to trust God. We trust God using His chosen, Apostles, Prophet’s, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers as He used Jesus Christ to bring clarity and understanding to those that looked to God and received Him as the Son of God.
From understanding these words of God we should learn that God is not a respector of persons. Everyone must follow God’s plan of salvation.
