In April of this year, I had the distinct privilege of being invited to present a series of lessons while enjoying the sweet fellowship of the wonderful brethren of the Miami, Oklahoma, congregation of God's people. During that weekend it was also their turn to host the phenomenal Tri-State Youth Series, which they gave me the added blessing of being able to present a lesson for as well. This is that lesson...

Last night we began what promises to be yet another outstanding Wednesday Night Summer Series, as faithful brothers and gospel preachers from several different states will be presenting sequential lessons from the Gospel of John. Each brother was given the opportunity to volunteer to cover any 2 - 3 chapter segment, and could pick any topic, verse(s), or approach they preferred within that parameter.

• It doesn't matter what you believe as long as you are sincere.

• You can make the Bible say anything you want it to. (One idea that seems to keep floating around is, “Take a passage of Scripture and read it to a group of people. There will be as many interpretations of that passage as there are people in that room.” Is this really true?)

• Was the Bible meant to be understood?

• Was the Bible intended to be understood alike?
