• Money & possessions: By some scholarly counts, money, wealth, or possessions are referenced in the Bible over 2,000 times. Jesus Himself spoke frequently on the subject—about one out of every three parables relates to money or possessions.

• Prayer: Prayer is mentioned a little over 500 times (depending on the translation).

• Money isn’t just about currency—it represents trust, dependence, priorities, and idols. That’s why passages like Matthew 6:24 say, “You cannot serve both God and money.”

• Prayer is central, but Jesus’ teachings show that how we handle money is often the most visible reflection of our heart and faith.

So in short: the Bible does indeed mention money more than prayer. Not because money is more important than prayer, but because God knew it would be one of the biggest competitors for our devotion.
