2020 has proven to be an unpredictable year! Even people's best-laid plans can come to nothing when global issues change the playing field. Yet, we know that God isn't surprised by any of this, and so did we hear Him properly when we planned 2020? We welcome Senior Pastor John Robertson back to the podcast to talk through what 2020 will continue to look like for Riverlife, and how we can each engage with what God has put before us: to be released to declare and demonstrate Christ's kingdom.

Released on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week 2020, Jo and Scott look at the Christian hope we have in the events of the first Easter. Maundy Thursday is traditionally the day that Jesus washed the disciples' feet, showing us that the God who stepped into our human existence came to serve us, not be served, and so shows us the way to live that brings life and dignity to people.

Continuing their conversation about these strange days we find ourselves in, Jo and Scott spend time talking through how people see God, and how we can respond to some of the biggest questions in life, around sickness, healing, God's nature and our role as His kingdom people. Ultimately, when we think of God we should find Jesus, and He shows us the way forward in the midst of the time of crisis.

Scott and Jo join remotely to talk through what church is and looks like in this season. Coronavirus has caused church gatherings to be canceled in Australia and many other nations worldwide, so what does it mean when the church is closed and we can't go to a service?

Scott and Jo take some time to talk through what faith looks like in the face of an escalating global phenomenon. With COVID-19 cases growing daily, and in many countries any large gatherings are being banned, what does it look like to follow Jesus and be a part of His kingdom community when everything changes?

Scott catches up with Werner Nachtigal in Penang, Malaysia, at the Kingdom Family Gathering. Wener is the International President of the Global Outreach Day (Go2020), an organisation whose heart is to see every member of the church worldwide engaged in sharing the good news of the Gospel.
