Adam Sikes is a Marine Corps veteran and Silver Star recipient for his actions taken in combnat. He went on to join the CIA’s Ground Branch as a paramilitary operations officer conducting covert missions around the globe before becoming an author. Lonnie Bedwell is a Navy veteran who lost his sight when he was shot in the face by a friend whilst hunting. Of course there was a fight for his life, followed by a painstaking recovery, but what he’s gone on to accomplish is nothing short of jaw-dropping. Aside from speaking and creating opportunity for others, he became the first blind person to kayak all 226 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. And because that wasn’t enough, he’s now summitted four of the world’s seven highest peaks(including Mt. Everest), and trekked to the South Pole on cross-country skis.
