Going Long on First

Going Long on First is back discussing another week of free agency, top 5 (A and B) and ending with Benson's Brainbusters.

We discuss the most recent signings in free agency and debate who has made the biggest improvements to their teams. Find out who each of us think has made the biggest jump early in the offseason. We don't forget to mention some of the Eagles signings and Owen and Seth decide whether it was a good move for the Packers to bring back Kevin King. (0:00:00- 1:08:00)

This week we double down and give you our top 10 (A and B) on all time pass rushers and the top pass rushers right now. With a longer list, will there be snubs? (1:08:00- 2:26:00)

We end the show with our weekly trivia, Benson's Brainbusters. Jeremy hosts this week with Owen's undefeated record on the line. Can Seth slay the giant? find out! (2:26:00-3:19:00)

As always, thank you for listening and supporting!

*We recorded Tuesday night before additional signings and releases were announced.

Free Agency frenzy has begun. Tampering period began Monday March 15th, with the new league year beginning on Wednesday March 17th.

Some big moves have been made already. We break down many of the big signings to begin the new year. (00:00:00-00:57:00)

Our top 5 rankings are back with us debating top 5 (A and B) inside linebackers, all time and right now. (00:57:00-1:44:00)

We end the show with Benson's Brainbusters. Owen is back in the host chair. Can he stump Jeremy and I? (1:44:00-2:42:00)

As always thanks for listening and supporting us!

We are back for another week of Going Long on First.

Another week, another major star has flooded the headlines. On Monday, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a massive extension keeping Dak around for another 4 years. He set a record with $126 million guaranteed over the contract. We discuss the contract and whether Dak deserves it or not. Where does he lie among the top half of the quaterbacks in the league? Are the Cowboys a better team now that Dak is sticking around?

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said Jalen Hurts is the guy in Philly now that Wentz is gone. Is it too early to be sold on Hurts? are the Eagles making a mistake not bringing in competition for the second year quarterback.

Aaron Jones was not franchised tag by the Packers and is now a free agent. Should the Packers still try to bring him back on a large running back deal that he will most likely demand? Will that be too much for the Packers and force them to move forward without Jones? Preston Smith is also among trade discussions. What could the Packers get for Smith?

Later in the episode, we give our weekly top 5 (A and B). This week we debate the top corners in the NFL right now and all time.

We end with our version of Jeopardy, Benson's Brainbusters. This week Jeremy hosts and tests the knowledge of Owen and Seth. Who will come out on top this week?

As always, thank you for listening and supporting!

Hello Everyone. It is mock draft Monday and we are here to present to you mock draft 2.0 March edition. Is Lawrence staying at one, or is the Zach Wilson hype train strong enough to move up to number one?

We end the show with another round of Benson's Brainbusters. This week, Seth hosts with Jeremy and Owen facing off. Who wins this week?

As always, thank you for listening and supporting Going Long on First!

Another franchise quarterback has moved on. The saga surrounding Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles is finally over. Recently traded to the Indianapolis Colts, Wentz has the change of scenery to help rebuild his career and the Eagles get to move on from the issues that surrounded Wentz over the 2020 season.

Is Jalen Hurts now the guy in Philly? Does Wentz have a career resurgence with Head Coach Frank Reich.

We discuss that and other free agency and trade rumors. (00:00:00-00:41:30)

We continue our draft coverage with a 3 round mock draft on the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Find out who Jeremy wants to see the Eagles draft and find out who Owen and Seth think the Packers should draft. (00:41:30-1:15:00)

We give our weekly top 5 ( A and B). This week we breakdown all time offensive lineman and top offensive lineman right now. ( 1:15:00- 2:11:00)

To end the show, Owen is back with "Benson's Brainbusters." Does Seth make a comeback this week against Jeremy, who dominated week one of trivia. Next week we might have a new host as Owen is ready to dip his toes in the brainbusters. (2:11:00-2:45:00)

As always thank you for listening and supporting!

We are back with another week of NFL discussions. The league is in full off-season mode. The Brady G.O.A.T debate is now behind us and we can move on to bigger and better things.

This week we discuss the ever moving quarterback carousel. Where does Wentz land? Do the Texans budge on the Watson dilemma and whether the Wilson "smoke" is real. ( 00:00:00- 1:01:00)

JJ Watt for the first time in his career is looking for a new home after the Texans granted his release. He is coveted by many teams and rightfully so. Will he end his career back home in Green Bay (we can only hope)? Will he join the family in Pittsburgh? One thing we know, he wants a ring and he will go to the team that gives him the best shot.(1:01:00-1:18:00)

We have pushed our hometown teams to the side for the past few weeks, but this week we go full blown Packers and Eagles. Owen and I (your Packer fans) debate who the Packers should target in free agency and the draft. Jeremy, the lone Eagles fan in Wisconsin (probably not) also discusses who the Eagles should target in free agency and the draft. (1:18:00-2:09:00)

We continue our weekly top 5 (A and B) all time and current positional rankings. This week we debate wide receivers and tight ends. (2:09:00- 2:54:00)

We finish the show with our brand new segment, everyone's favorite off-season segment in the NFL, Benson's Brainbusters. Owen will quiz Jeremy and I, weekly, in a Jeopardy themed trivia show. He will test our NFL knowledge and we will find out who the unquestioned NFL wizard is. Let the battle begin! (2:54:00- 3:14:00)

As always, thank you to everyone for listening to us banter on a weekly basis!

Off-season is now in full swing. Teams are prepping for the upcoming free agency and the draft. Myself, cohosts Jeremy and Owen give our first full first round mock draft of the year. We will release an updated one in March and one more in April before the real thing.

Enjoy! and as always. Thanks for listening!

Tom Brady has done it again. Brady and the Buccaneers have won Super Bowl 55. Ring number 7 for the "G.O.A.T." considered by many. After a dominating performance by the Buccaneers defense in shutting down Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense. We debate whether Tom Brady truly is the G.O.A.T. now.

Afterwards, we unveil our first off-season rankings, starting with running backs. We debate who should be top 5 (A and B) right now and all-time.

Join us tomorrow for a special mock draft edition of "Going Long on First".

As always, thank you for listening!

Super Bowl week is here. We are back to breakdown the big game and have some fun picking a few of the many Super Bowl props out there.

We also dissect the Jarrod Goff- Matt Stafford trade. Who won? Does Stafford put the Rams over the hump? We also discuss what this means for other qb's in the league (Carson Wentz, Deshaun Watson) (00:00:00- 32:00:00)

We couldn't go an episode without discussing the Packers in some way. The Packers recently moved on from Mike Pettine and are searching for a new DC. We discuss some of the many options they have. ( 32:00:00-45:00:00)

We reveal our first mock of mock draft season with mock draft .5, just releasing our top 16 picks for the first round. We will release our full first round mock draft next week. Be prepared. (45:00:00-1:54:00)

We could not have an episode without a top 5 (a and b). This time we rank the top non qb players 25 and under. ( 1:54:00-2:15:00)

Our last segment of "The Line is Right" of the 2020 football season culminates with our Super Bowl picks and a few prop bets. Does Mahomes and the Chiefs come out as the next dynasty in the NFL, or does Tom Brady cement himself as the GOAT? ( 2:15:00- 2:51:00)
