  • Can You Mediate High-Conflict Divorces – Part 1
Today, Mardi Winder talks with Victoria Kirilloff, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst who brings both personal experience and a highly analytical lens to a high-conflict and toxic divorce process. The conversation explores how Victoria’s journey led her to create divorce analytics and develop the global settlement proposal, a powerful tool that gives individuals a complete and realistic view of their financial situation as they move through divorce.
Victoria walks through why divorce cannot be treated as a single event. It is emotional, financial, legal, and social all at once, and when people begin to understand that complexity, they are far better positioned to make thoughtful, informed decisions. Mardi and Victoria talk about the importance of truly knowing your numbers, building a workable budget, and preparing well in advance of any negotiations or meetings with legal professionals.
Victoria also shares the lessons learned from her own experience, including navigating a toxic relationship and ultimately building a business that helps others avoid the same costly mistakes. They discuss the critical need for financial transparency, proper documentation of assets, and the risks of misjudging asset values or making assumptions about spousal support.
This is an honest conversation about what really happens when emotions and finances collide in a high-conflict relationship mediation. With the right support team, including financial specialists and strategic divorce guidance, it is possible to move through the process with greater clarity and confidence. Victoria brings both expertise and a grounded perspective that encourages you to see divorce not just as an ending, but as a turning point toward something more intentional and aligned with your future.

A bit about Jen Mitchell, Esq.
Jen Mitchell is a family law attorney in Illinois, with 14 years of experience. Jen practiced as a litigation attorney for the first 9 years of her career, serving as the zealous advocate to her clients and advocating for their best interests. After having three children in 39 months, Jen realized that her role in a fundamentally broken family law litigation system was destroying children, families, and people, with the negative effects expanding to the World.
As such, Jen referred all of her litigation cases out and started to focus on creating a NEW way to help couples go through the emotionally difficult divorce process. She created Solace Divorce Mediation, which offers a proprietary process that helps couples restructure their relationship from “married” to “friends” or “co-parents” with a solid foundation of communication, trust, and respect.
Divorce is just as much a legal process as it is an emotional process. Having gone through her own divorce in August 2019, Jen knows how difficult the emotional roller coaster can be and how important it is to create a strong co-parenting relationship for the benefit of your family. Jen incorporates her life coaching skills into her process to provide valuable resources and tools for clients to utilize that enable them to learn as much as they can about themselves, heal from past traumas and experiences that are blocking them, and grow into the people they were meant to be!
Jen is committed to changing the way people view and experience divorce, empowering couples to embrace their power as the absolute best authorities to determine what is in the best interest of their children and a fair and equitable manner to divide the marital property that they worked so hard to accumulate; and encouraging clients to use this difficult time as an opportunity to grow!
