Veronica spoke to Isabel de Valenzuela, a first-year Bachelor in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence student from Spain. She first applied to be a CIVICA ambassador because the position looked fun and unique—and she got in!

By being a part of CIVICA, Isabel has had the opportunity to meet talented people from all corners of the world and of all different ages, programs and experiences. As a first-year student, she is learning from others within CIVICA and getting to experience different events and initiatives, including a speaker’s congress.

En CIVICA, ha tenido la oportunidad de conocer a personas con mucho talento de todas las partes del mundo y de diferentes edades, programas y experiencias. Como estudiante de primero, está aprovechando para aprender de otros miembros de CIVICA y para participar en distintos eventos e iniciativas, como un congreso de ponencias.

Angela Brito Gorriti is a fourth year Bachelor in Data and Business Analytics student and the President for the Undergrad Chapter of IE University’s Women in Business Club. Originally from Madrid in Spain, she grew up in Canada and Australia.

Angela joined Women in Business in her first year in an effort to meet more people, and says it’s one of the best things she’s done at IE University. It’s allowed her to meet like-minded students and inspiring professionals, as well as connect with women’s clubs all over Europe to share ideas and connect.

Angela Brito Gorriti está en cuarto del Grado en Datos y Analítica de Negocio, y es la presidenta de la división de grados del Women in Business Club de IE University. Natural de Madrid, se crio en Canadá y Australia.

Angela se unió al Women in Business Club en primero porque quería conocer gente, y dice que es una de las mejores decisiones que ha tomado en IE University. Este le ha permitido conocer a estudiantes afines a ella y profesionales que la han inspirado, además de ponerla en contacto con otros clubes de mujeres de Europa.

The Going to IEU Podcast is back. This time we are joined by guest Clint Goodrich, IE University’s Executive Director of Sports and Well-Being, professor on leadership through sports and head of men’s basketball. To Clint, the Sports and Well-Being Center is a space to engage in athletic and well-being activities, regardless of skill level or experience.

IE University students have the chance to participate in a range of sports, including recreational sports, performance sports and other activities. Students can choose anything from hiking to kayaking, sailing to boxing or weekly yoga sessions—all activities are available for free!

For Clint, participating in sports is all about building one another up, setting goals and working hard to achieve them. Everyone is a beginner at some point and working to improve is a transformational process that can benefit everyone. Ultimately, sports are a way to thrive personally and as a community.

IE University ofrece a sus estudiantes una amplia oferta de actividades deportivas, recreativas y competitivas, todas ellas gratuitas, que van desde senderismo, kayak, y vela hasta boxeo o yoga.

Para Clint, el deporte implica apoyo mutuo, establecer objetivos y esforzarse por conseguirlos. Siempre que alguien se enfrenta a un deporte nuevo tiene que empezar desde cero, pero trabajar para mejorar es un proceso de transformación que nos beneficia a todos. Uno de los mayores beneficios del deporte es que nos permite crecer personalmente y como comunidad.
