  • 16: Thoughts on Brexit & Devolution
On the 15th June 2017, the First Minister of Wales presented the Welsh Government’s new policy paper ‘Brexit & Devolution’ at Cardiff University’s Business School Postgraduate Centre.
You can listen to his statement about the paper on the previous episode of Golau here:

Immediately after the event, we caught up with Prof. Roger Scully, Dr Jo Hunt & Dr Rachel Minto to get their reaction to the FM’s statement and the policy paper.
In the second half of this episode we’ve included much of the Q & A from the media briefing. Although the sound isn’t great (sorry) the FM makes some very interesting answers to the questions asked so we’ve included it for reference.

  • 14: Two-Partyism Returns to Wales?
This show features Prof Roger Scully, Prof Laura McAllister and Nye Davies of Thinking Wales.
We discuss the results of the Welsh Political Barometer published on 1st June 2017 which seems to suggest that after weeks of volatile polling, the 2017 General Election seems to be drifting towards a two party contest in Wales, with projected votes for the Conservatives and Labour at their highest levels for 30 years.
We also discuss questions of leadership in both Labour and the Conservatives as well as the challenges facing the media and public when political parties mix devolved and non-devolved issues in their manifestos.
We also finish with a real shock - Prof. Scully makes a prediction, not a projection about the upcoming contest in Wales!

  • 11: Strong and Stable Polling
In this show, Prof. Roger Scully ( of @ScullyArYTeledu fame: https://twitter.com/ScullyArYTeledu ) shares the latest findings of the ITV Wales/YouGov/Cardiff University Welsh Political Barometer poll. These results follow the seismic results in the previous poll that showed the potential for a first Conservative majority in Wales in the modern era.
This time around, the results show that it's it's not just the Conservative leadership that is 'strong and stable' but their polling appears to be, too.
