Heartwarming, Gut-wrenching Story

Super wonderful Christian book! It takes you back to those days of the West where women were few and far between. A mining town is not a place for a pretty young single woman! Mattie hates having to dress like a boy, and it isn't until later that she realizes it was for her own protection. She wants out of that small town, and so does her brother. But when they board the train bound for Pennsylvania, Mattie finds herself alone when her brother finds what he's looking for along the way. An awesome, well written book.

Fun historical story.

A short, sweet and fun read set in an old mining town. A good way to pass the evening.

WAIT AND TRUST

I enjoyed this clean Christian western romance that has some mystery and suspense and a message that God can clean up any sinner. From Oregon to California in 1851, traveling by a mule train to join her brother Jackson, Jennie Felder is the only girl along with her father making this trek. The town of Shasta is mud and men, this isnât a place for a lady, and to learn that Jackson owns and runs the saloon. Christian, Lance Corte, runs the mercantile, but he is leery of Jennie, is she like her crooked brother Jackson? The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning as the mystery of who is stealing the merchandise from the mule train as it is coming into town. Can the sweet nature and gentle heart of Jennie turn a saloon into a tea house and make a profit? While in jail will Jackson change or return to his old ways. I found the dialog heartwarming and the message that God has a plan for each of us, one where we will prosper and will be protected if we only trust and obey His word. God can clean the heart of any sinner if they only ask for forgiveness. Disclosure: I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. But most of all her strong faith, which spilled into every aspect of her life. Youâll also meet Lance Corte, the mercantile owner and son of Harold who runs the mule train too. Heâs a Godly man who wants to protect Jenny. Youâll meet many side characters that add charm & depth to the story! Throw in a little romance, and itâs the perfect read for a busy day.
