As we move past Christmas, do we have to leave it all behind? Dave asks how we can embrace the truth of Christmas - that God wants to be close to us - all the year round, choosing a close relationship not a distant one.

What is it that God wants for Christmas? By coming to be with us perhaps He is trying to tell us that what He truly wants for Christmas is us, to have a relationship with us. Maria explores that and invites us to that relationship.

It can be so easy to rush at a breakneck speed around Christmas, but will we allow time to stop and dwell at the manger and at the cross?

Mary is an amazing example of someone willing to be used by God, but that meant giving her Jesus away, allowing him to go on to do all that God was asking. She gave him away. Will we pass him on too?

If it is true that Jesus came to this world to show God's heart to be close to us and to save us, that is amazing news! So what do we do with that news. Dave explores the shepherd's response, who went to experience it, shared it and lived new because of it.

Jesus has come close to us, but will we draw close to him? The barriers are gone and dealt with, and he has opened the way, so will we love him and draw closer and closer this Christmas or stay where we are?

On the first Sunday of Advent, Dave reminds us of the importance of the Christmas message and the powerful statement that God made to us by coming to earth and becoming one of us: he wants to be close to us!
