The Golden Knights Watch Summer interview series continues as we welcome the Las Vegas Sun’s Golden Knights reporter, Justin Emerson!

Emerson joined the Las Vegas Sun as its Golden Knights reporter in November 2018 after two years with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Jack Manning and AJ Alexander welcomed Justin to the studio to get his take on the Golden Knights’ offseason moves and what he expects out of the club in October.

Shea Theodore had 63 takeaways last season, second-best among league defenseman and 10th-best overall. Could he be a dark-horse Norris candidate? Justin provides some compelling reasons why it's entirely within the realm of possibility.

We talked with Justin about which Knights should take big steps forward and what it will take for the team to take care of their unfinished business and bring the Cup to Vegas.

Justin also shared his unique insight into college hockey and how UNLV’s Skating Rebels can make the leap from club hockey to NCAA Division I. Emerson graduated from Arizona State University, where he covered the club hockey team make the same transition.

First, we are joined by Will Scouch of (link: http://Scouching.ca) Scouching.ca who offers his analytic-based evaluation of the top prospects in the Golden Knights system. Will recently released his full analysis of the Golden Knights 2019 draft class on Scouching’s YouTube channel and was kind enough to dive even deeper to discuss some of the Knights up-and-coming prospects from the later rounds. As a special bonus, Scouch relies on his educational background in sports science to give a more informed opinion as to Peyton Kreb’s ability to recover from his achilles tendon injury.

Cat Silverman

Next, Jack had a one-on-one interview with Cat Silverman, who is a contributor for The Athletic Arizona, EP Rinkside, (link: http://NHL.com) NHL.com and InGoal Magazine. Silverman is both a goaltender and a journalist, and has coached with the Arizona Coyotes Department of Hockey Development and USA Hockey. Cat generously offered her expert perspective on the Golden Knights’ goalie pipeline, including her analysis of the development of the Knights controversial backup, Malcolm Subban. Silverman also broke down some of the Arizona Coyotes’ off-season moves and offered her projections for their upcoming season.

Mark Divver

Finally, we are joined by veteran sports journalist, Mark Divver, who has been covering professional and collegiate sports in New England for more than 30 years. Divver had a front-row seat to Jack Dugan’s (VGK 2017 5th round pick) amazing freshman campaign with the Providence College Friars. Divver shares some of his exclusive knowledge about the Golden Knights attempts to get Dugan under contract and what Dugan will need to do to compete for a job in the NHL.

In this week's podcast, Jack Manning and AJ Alexander air their final grievances about the heartbreaking trade of Nikita Gusev to the New Jersey Devils. The guys debate whether George McPhee was completely truthful during his post-trade press conference, how much spin surrounds the trade, and how management's salary missteps led the Golden Knights to the loss of a potentially elite scoring threat.
