There are some big updates to True Skate that you don’t want to miss.
Ruben Garcia was a professional skateboarder with sponsors from top brands like Real Skateboards, Independent Trucks, Spitfire Wheels, DC Shoes, and others. Along the way, he had notable teammates like Greg Lutzka, and transitioned into becoming the Team Manager for DC Shoes and the Marketing Director for DC Shoes Europe.
Ruben joined the podcast on behalf of True Axis, the gaming studio that develops the skateboarding app, True Skate.
He touched on what makes the app different from other skateboarding video games, like the physics engine behind the skateboard, which helps the app feel like a skateboarding simulation instead of a video game.
There have been big updates to the game like controller gameplay using PS4 or Xbox One controllers (newer generations work best), and an ability to play dual screen where the app broadcasts to your TV screen. Just connect your smartphone with an Apple TV to connect, and turn on Bluetooth to connect with your controller.
True Skate is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and it has downloadable maps that can be purchased as well.
