Story Transcript:

Lt: Šiltą pavasario rytą trys draugai – Giedrė, Jurgis ir Rasa – nusprendė išvykti žvejoti.
En: On a warm spring morning, three friends – Giedrė, Jurgis, and Rasa – decided to go fishing.

Lt: Juos viliojo Nerio upės ramybė ir gandas, kad joje gausu žuvų.
En: They were drawn to the tranquility of the Neris River and the rumor that it was teeming with fish.

Lt: Jie pasiruošė meškeres, sumuštinį ir kibiro pilną vilionių.
En: They prepared their fishing rods, sandwiches, and a bucket full of bait.

Lt: Atvykę prie upės, su didelėmis viltimis mėtė savo meškeres į vandenį.
En: Upon reaching the river, they eagerly cast their lines into the water with high hopes.

Lt: Jurgis buvo savimi labai patenkintas.
En: Jurgis was very pleased with himself.

Lt: Jis buvo įsitikinęs, kad šiandien pagaus didžiausią žuvį.
En: He was convinced that today he would catch the biggest fish.

Lt: Laikrodis tiksliai sukosi, tačiau visi jaučgudavo tik mažų žuvyčių dantukus, bet nieko rimtesnio.
En: The clock kept ticking, but everyone only felt nibbles from small fish, nothing more significant.

Lt: Rasa jau pagavo kelias vištytes, o Giedrė net smagurą.
En: Rasa had already caught a few minnows, and Giedrė even snagged an old boot.

Lt: Bet Jurgis dar nieko nebuvo sugavęs.
En: But Jurgis had not caught anything yet.

Lt: Vėliau, kai saulė aukščiau pakilo, Jurgio meškerė staiga pasilenkė it lankas.
En: Later, as the sun rose higher, Jurgis's fishing rod suddenly bent like a bow.

Lt: Jis su šūksniais tarstelėjo: „Dabar jau tikrai!
En: With shouts of excitement, he exclaimed, "This is it!

En: He started reeling in the line with such force, as if he needed to pull out an immortal fish.

En: Giedrė and Rasa stopped to watch, convinced that this would be an event no search engine could find.

Lt: Bet kai Jurgis ištraukė savo „gaudymą“, visi liko apstulbę.
En: But when Jurgis pulled in his "catch," everyone was amazed.

Lt: Ant kabliuko kabėjo senas, pasmirusi batai.
En: Hanging from the hook was an old, lifeless boot.

Lt: Jis buvo tiek daug pasitraukęs, kad net kilo iš vandens ir šmėžavo ore.
En: It had been submerged for so long that it even splashed water and oozed in the air.

Lt: Jurgio veidas iš pradžių paraudo, tada numbalo, ir visi pradėjo juoktis taip, kad net skrandžiai pradėjo skaudėti.
En: Jurgis's face first turned red, then pale, and everyone began laughing so hard that their stomachs hurt.

Lt: Po šios įvykio, jie nutarė grįžti namo.
En: After this incident, they decided to head back home.

Lt: Nors žvejyba nebuvo itin sėkminga, jie patyrė kvapą gniaužiantį nuotykį prie upės.
En: Though the fishing was not very successful, they had experienced a thrilling adventure by the river.

Lt: Prieš išeidami, Jurgis metė batus atgal į Nerį, galvodamas, kad galbūt kitą kartą kazkas kitas sugaus šią ypatingą „žuvį".
En: Before leaving, Jurgis threw the boot back into the Neris, thinking that maybe someone else would catch this special "fish" next time.

Lt: Kartu paragavę meškere patirta laimikio – bendrystės ir juoko skonio – Giedrė, Jurgis ir Rasa paliko upę su šiltais širdyse ir nauja puikia istorija, kurių ateityje juos visada šiltai sušildys ir primins, kad iškyla iš klaidų mes dažnai gauname geriausią gyvenimo dovaną – draugystę ir šypsenas.
