  • JJ McCarthy’s Comeback Falls Short, Cowboys Offense Stalls | Week 6

Two fan bases. One friendship. And this week, a lot of frustration.

🏈 This week on Good Friends, Better Rivals, we break down a tough Week 6 for both of our teams. The New York Giants lost 34-27 to the New Orleans Saints, with JJ McCarthy stepping in for Jameis Winston and nearly pulling off a late comeback. His final pass into the end zone with 12 seconds left couldn’t connect to tie it. The Dallas Cowboys fell 23-13 to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, as an offense built to score stalled out against the Packers’ defense. Dak Prescott threw two first-half interceptions, and Dallas posted its lowest point total of the season.

Whether you bleed blue or live and die by the star, this is where the trash talk meets respect. We’ll disagree on almost everything, but we’ll always be friends (until the next Giants-Cowboys matchup).

  • Good Friends, Better Rivals: Week 4 Reaction | CeeDee's 17-Catch Day, Tae Banks' Pick-Six Seals It

Week 4 is in the books, and it was a good one for both sides of the rivalry. On this episode of Good Friends, Better Rivals, we break down the Cowboys' nail-biting 34-30 win over Houston and the Giants' 36-24 victory.

CeeDee Lamb put the offense on his back with a 17-catch performance, and we talk about how he took over the game and what it means for this offense moving forward. The Cowboys needed every point to hold off the Texans in a back-and-forth shootout, and we dig into what worked, what didn't, and whether this team can keep winning games this way.

On the other side, the Giants put together a complete performance, capped off by Tae Banks sealing the game with an interception for a touchdown. We discuss what's clicking for New York, who stood out, and whether this is a sign of something real or just one good Sunday.

  • Joey Porter Jr. Is a Cowboy! Plus Cowboys-Ravens Fallout & Giants Survive Without Dart

Week 3 gave both sides of the rivalry plenty to talk about, and not all of it was good.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Cowboys fell 34-31 to the Ravens on a last-second 56-yard Tyler Loop field goal. Dallas is now 1-2, and we dig into how a game the offense kept alive slipped away in the final seconds.

Meanwhile, the Giants won ugly in the rain, 12-7 over the Titans. It was New York's first game without Jaxson Dart after his season-ending knee injury, and the offense kicked four field goals and leaned on the ground game. It was far from pretty, but it moved them to 2-1. We talk about what the rest of the season looks like without Dart.

Then the big news: the Cowboys have traded for Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., sending Pittsburgh a 2028 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. Dallas desperately needs help on defense, which ranks 30th in total defense with no interceptions yet this season. Is Jerry Jones finally fixing the secondary, or did he overpay? We break down the price tag, what Porter brings after a monthslong contract standoff and a back issue, and whether he can debut against the Texans in Week 4.

Rivals on the field, friends at the mic. Hit play, then tell us who's right.

  • Cowboys vs. Giants Week 1 Preview: Dak vs. Dart, Harbaugh's Debut & SNF Storylines

Fares and Caleb preview Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season as the Cowboys travel to face the Giants on Sunday Night Football (Sun, 9/13, 8:20 PM ET on NBC).

This one comes loaded with storylines: it's John Harbaugh's first game as Giants head coach, and if healthy, it sets up the first true head-to-head between Jaxson Dart and Dak Prescott. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens test a retooled Giants secondary, while a revamped Cowboys defense under new coordinator Christian Parker gets its first real look against New York's offense. Add in possible NFL debuts for rookies Arvell Reese (Giants) and Caleb Downs (Cowboys) — former Ohio State teammates now on opposite sidelines — and this NFC East opener has plenty riding on it.

The two split last season's series, with Dallas escaping with a wild 40-37 overtime win before New York closed things out with a 34-17 statement win at home. Fares and Caleb break down what to watch for, where each team has the edge, and lock in their picks before kickoff.
