  • Is Pain an Emotion?
After Brian and Roger shared their favorite Adam Wilk memories, the two got into the Matt Harvey suspension, how the Mets are now handling their injuries, and if the season is over yet. In the mailbag, they were asked things like what Terry Collins binges on Netflix before they were interrupted with the latest Matt Harvey news. They talked some more about Harvey and got back to the rest of the mailbag segment, because they are professionals. Oh and they revealed who was responsible for that youknowwhat in Kevin Plawecki's locker. It's pretty obvious.
Thanks to Apples in Stereo for the music.
You can find Good Fundies on Twitter @goodfundies and @brianmets. The Instagram handle is goodfundiespod. There's a Good Fundies playlist on Spotify. Good Fundies is also now on Facebook. The latter was 100 percent Brian's idea.

  • Urgent Fundies: Short Distance Calls
THE SEASON IS OVER! Maybe. Maybe not. But after Noah Syndergaard went down with an injury after he refused an MRI exam, Brian just had to vent. Roger just had to be there too, since he engineers the show. Neither Terry Collins, Sandy Alderson, nor Syndergaard were spared from the fury. Jacob deGrom was though. Michael Conforto too. Those guys are cool.

  • Live Forever
Roger and Brian talked about the latest mess involving management, Matt Harvey, Yoenis Cespedes, and Noah Syndergaard. Once Brian refused to get back at any of the youths who called him a 'Debbie Downer' for saying the Mets might not win more than 86 games this season, the two dipped into the mailbag and discovered several disturbing suicidal emails. After keeping it positive and insisting the season isn't over, they discussed who their most hated Met was/is, and listeners' favorite memories attending a baseball game. Once you would think the show is wrapping up, Brian talked about why Harvey is having the worst season so far out of all Mets pitchers.
Thanks to Maxine Nightingale and Jethro Tull for the music.

  • All Hail Jay Bruce
On the second season premiere of Good Fundies, Roger and Brian finally got around to making over/under picks for the 2017 Mets season and debuted a brand new segment that heavily borrows from the DEFCON system to monitor the population of Panic City. They also talked about their anniversary party, meeting new professional acquaintances at Pitch Talks, if the very tall Brian can dunk a basketball, if Bobby Abreu was ever able to dunk a basketball, where they would put a Terry Collins tattoo on their bodies, life with Jay Bruce as a God, and oh so much more.

  • Guess Who Just Got Back Today
Brian and Roger said goodbye to spring training, talked about which former Met in their Met prime they would add to the current team, who deserves the 5th spot in the 2017 rotation, if Steven Matz could ever stay healthy, the final nominees for the Binghamton Rumble Pony mascot name, and which outfielder should help Matt Harvey work the grill at a BBQ.

  • The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (with Greg Prince)
Brian started by predicting a "short" episode, dooming it to become the longest one in podcast history. Blame too many calls to the bullpen.
But it was worth it because Brian reminisced back to earlier this week when he got to ask Keith Hernandez two questions and listened to him talk about "leadership." Roger and Brian also talked about the future of Matt Harvey, if David Wright was dragging Noah Syndergaard as politely as possible, and if Zack Wheeler's promising spring training debut means the Mets will do better in 2017 than Brian originally predicted.
Then Roger talked with Greg Prince (Faith and Fear in Flushing), whose new book "Piazza: Catcher, Slugger, Icon, Star" was just released. Among other things, the two discussed Mike Piazza and his reaction when the Mets traded for him, the Hall-of-Famer's most underrated moments, the Mets teams from 1998-2001, KC and the Sunshine Band, why his nom de plume is different than his nom de blog, what he originally wanted to title the book, and the time Keith Hernandez blamed the Baha Men for the Mets losing the 2000 World Series.
After that, Brian remembered more stories from the Keith luncheon, the Good Fundies guys figured out who would be in charge of what on a Thor-deGrom-Matz road trip, and recalled how awful the Mets lineup was a mere 21 months ago when Matz made his debut.
By the way you can get "Piazza: Catcher, Slugger, Icon, Star" digitally and/or in print today, if you so desired.

  • Something Stinks!
Brian and Roger talked about whether or not Matt Harvey's iffy first spring training start should put Mets fans at DEFCON 2, how long the team's window is to win a championship, how happy Brian would be if Jay Bruce did well, the latest David Wright setback, Noah Syndergaard and Ty Kelly's different takes on the World Baseball Classic, if you would rather be Clayton Kershaw today or go back in time and write every Beatles song before The Beatles, Tim Tebow, Tebow some more, what the Binghamton Rumble Ponies should name their new mascot, what Brian should say to Keith Hernandez if he ever gets 10 seconds with him, and more if you could believe it.
Also, warning: the boys curse now.

  • I'll Tell You What I Do (with Marc Carig)
Brian and Roger talked about all that went down the last few weeks in Port St. Lucie, including such storylines as 'Steven Matz: Shark Hunter', 'Just Kidding About that Extension: The Neil Walker Story', 'Continue Praying For David Wright", and "Zack Wheeler: Not a Ghost?'
Then Brian finally got around to talking about his Hardball Times article about which inflated numbers put up by the Las Vegas 51s to look for when determining who the next Michael Confortos are and who will become the next...well, they say you shouldn't speak ill of those who recently went from hitting clean-up to playing in Japan...
The esteemed Marc Carig of Newsday chatted with the guys of Good Fundies. He talked about the atmosphere right now down in Mets camp, the value of team chemistry, why the club is sticking with Travis d'Arnaud over signing Matt Wieters, and what Sandy Alderson meant when he said the Mets are "all in." He also spoke of baseball and its soul.
In the mail segment, Brian got into an argument with a small child over whether or not he is the beloved 'SNL' character Debbie Downer.
Then finally came the debut of a new segment from Mike, the Good Fundies Bronx correspondent. He gave the guys a glimpse into the mind of a fan of that other professional baseball team based in New York. (Relax, it was only for 60 seconds.)

  • The Mangan-DeMayo Debate (with Joe DeMayo)
Brian and Roger said goodbye to Adam Rubin and Ty Kelly and discussed the reunions of Jerry Blevins and Fernando Salas to the team, wondering if the two will bring the Mets to glory or nah. After Roger successfully proved in one important way how Jay Bruce is objectively better than Giancarlo Stanton, Brian broke down what the new ZiPS projections from Dan Szymborski say about the Mets chances in 2017.
Then in the main event, Joe DeMayo of St. Lucie to Flushing battled Brian in the #StateoftheMets debate. The two argued over how well the Mets will do this season, if the payroll is big enough, what to expect from David Wright, if the Nationals are a threat to Mets' way of living, what to do with a problem like Jay Bruce, what one aspect of the franchise they would change if they could, and more if you could believe it. Then Brian and Roger chatted with DeMayo about Mets prospects of the past, including Dilson Herrera, because Brian has got to stay on brand, as well as Reese Havens and Fernando "F-Mart" Martinez, because the boys love to pander to the masses.
In the mailbag, the "guys of Good Fundies" got their first ever voice memo. Listeners can send a voice memo or just an old fashioned email to [email protected]. It's free to do so.

  • Brian on the Street
Brian tired himself out after venting his continuing frustration at the lack of activity by the Mets front office, Matt Harvey declining to unblock him on Twitter despite extreme awareness, declaring we are all currently living in the darkest timeline, and from sending Roger to the therapist's office to admit he's frustrated at the Mets as well. (Yes, Jay Bruce was involved.)
Fortunately, Brian had a lot of positive energy hosting a game show a few days earlier testing Mets fans' knowledge of their favorite baseball team, romance novels, and serial killers at the Queens Baseball Convention. In an even more fortuitous stroke of luck, the flattering facsimile of 'Billy on the Street' was recorded and presented on this episode. J.T. Teran and Michelle Ioannou of Rising Apple, Matthew Cerrone of MetsBlog, and members of the the Citi Field Sheas and The 7 Line Army were among the fun contestants.
The two also went into the mailbag and answered listeners' questions and concerns, like if the team's new 'catching guru' can cure Travis d'Arnaud, if the fans and media will enjoy another spring training car and pony show from Yoenis Cespedes, and if David Wright will start more games than Michael Conforto. Feel free to email or leave a voice memo at [email protected] to take part in that in the future.
