Good Hope Church's - Sermon Podcast

Pastor Mike Jurek shares that hearing from God is rooted in the Bible, but it flourishes through spiritual discernment. As spiritual beings, we are invited to commune daily with the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. This closeness to God means His thoughts and guidance are never far away. It’s up to us to tune in.

He also highlights that the deeper things of God are spiritually discerned, not simply figured out with our minds. Growth in the Spirit takes time, nourishment, and practice, much like developing strength or wisdom in life. As we grow, God reveals more of His truth, leading us into a closer walk with Him.

In this message, Pastor Mike Jurek shares that the Bible is the key foundation for hearing God’s voice. God isn’t silent—He’s already spoken through His Word. As we read Scripture, we become familiar with the way He speaks, making it easier to recognize His leading in our daily lives. The Bible also equips us to stand strong against deception and discern what truly comes from Him.

Set aside time today to read and reflect on God’s Word—try Ephesians 3:14–21—and allow His Spirit to guide your thoughts.

In this message, Pastor Mike Stevens teaches that hearing from God begins with His Word. God has already spoken to us through Scripture, and when we read it, we learn to recognize His voice. Just like recognizing an author after reading their books, the more familiar we are with the Bible, the easier it is to discern God’s guidance. Without Scripture, we risk being deceived by other voices, but with it, we find clarity, direction, and strength.

Take time today to pause on a passage—like Ephesians 3:14–21—and let God speak to you through it.

In this teaching, Pastor Daniel Stevens reminds us that God still speaks, but the foundation for hearing His voice is His Word. The Bible is our guide, shaping our ability to recognize when God speaks and protecting us from deception. Just as you’d recognize the voice of an author after reading all their works, Scripture trains our ears to know the Shepherd’s voice.

Take a moment to slow down with the Word—read, reflect, and let God’s truth sink deep into your heart.

In Growing with God Part 14, Pastor Daniel Stevens reminds us that true spiritual maturity isn’t just about what we know, but how we live out our faith daily. Using the story of Israel’s journey, he points out that trust and obedience are what actually carry us into God’s promises. Growth takes place when we remain rooted in Christ, allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, and choose faith even when it’s uncomfortable.

Pastor Daniel encourages us not to settle for surface-level faith but to embrace God’s refining process—because every step of obedience moves us closer to His plan for our lives.
