Historically, there had been a witch hunt for people who had dared to speak the side which isn't so popular. A democracy is for the people, by the people and of the people. But at the same time, it is made of the majority. What happens when the majority decides to do the witch hunt? Who will stand up to it and how? 

The establishment have always tried to influence the majority to find an enemy in the minorities or a group of people who have different ideologies. Only a fair process of trail and investigation could make sure that it doesn't become a mob justice.
