Today we dive into the 2nd agreement from Don Miguel Ruiz's book, "The Four Agreements". Don't take things personally.

It is eye opening when we recognize the fact that the things other people are doing or saying... are not about us. The thing other people are doing and saying is about THEM and their past and their personal word and agreements.

So why do we assume their words and actions have a secret message laying within for us? And what can we do about it?

We form thoughts with words and those words dictate our life and our experiences. The words we chose to believe mold our existence. The words we speak about other have the power to mold their existence. And the words we use silently and aloud about ourselves completely dictate our world.

The KEY is that we get to chose the words we desire to be truth and that is the most powerful thing ever.

There is nothing supportive about grabbing your coat and umbrella and diving into SOMEONE ELSE's storm. They need you to take a stand and SHINE upon other.

Also, when you find yourself in a stormy chapter of life, let others shine into you but do not pull them down into the mud. Feel the warmth of their chapter and it will support you as you journey to the other side.

We get to choose whether or not we want to remain in a state of worry on a day to day basis. We are the ones that give worry power and allow it to take over our lives.

What if instead, you confronted your worries, analyzed them, took action, got busy living and had faith....all allowing you to move forward and truly enjoy your todays?

A conversation about parenting styles and how our choices affect our children's intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation.

Some parents have an idea of what they want their children's lives to look like. They often pull concepts and activities from their personal book of life and push their children into a certain way of being. Certain sports, activities, standards...

But when we do this, are we minimizing our children's ability to explore and truly find their own path? To stumble a bit to discover their personal passions.

Anyone can get good at anything with enough practice and push. But if we rely on these extrinsic motivators instead of operating intrinsically out of our true personal passion, the result could be developing kids who never really step into their own.

A conversation about the beauty of normalcy and how most of us ignore it until it is taken away from us.
