Michele Singer started making chocolates over 33 years ago as a hobby, but working in Television was her full-time profession. In June of 2015, she quit NBC and decided to make chocolates for her full-time career. She opened Tasteful Thoughts on March 25, 2018 in Cooper City. Tasteful Thoughts won the Davie-Cooper City 2019 Small Business Person of the Year Award and she couldn’t have been prouder.

Tasteful Thoughts is a Kosher Certified handmade chocolate and gourmet popcorn store. They sell dairy, parve (non dairy), gluten free, sugar free, vegan, and keto chocolates.  They also sell cake pops, caramel and candy apples, cotton candy, seasoned pretzels, baskets, platters, and chocolates from our display case.  They can sell one piece of chocolate for your craving, create a platter for your event or arrange all your holiday gifts for your family, friends and customers.

In this episode of the Good Neighbor Podcast, we have a chance to meet Dr. Laura Falco with Jazzy Eyes Optical located in Davie Florida.  After teaching optometry for 18 years, she decided to leave Nova University in 2018 to fulfill her personal career goal of owning a private practice.  Listen to learn more about Dr. Falco and her journey!

Jazzy Eyes has been a part of the Davie landscape for 35 years.  Originally an optical, Dr. Michael Kimmelman started examining patients and it grew into a thriving practice. 

Historically known for its extensive selection of exclusive and unique eyewear, today patients can have a comprehensive eye examination here or fill an outside glasses prescription.  The selection will never disappoint. Dr. Laura Falco and team are ready to help.

Dr. Laura Falco received her Bachelor of Science from State University of New York, University Center at Albany in 1995, and her Doctor of Optometry from State University of New York, College of Optometry in 1999. She continued on to complete a residency in Family Practice Optometry at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry in 2000.

Following her residency, she joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University in 2000.  She became a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry in 2002. 

She worked at Nova for the past 18 years, leaving the university at the rank of associate professor.

During this time, Dr. Falco has served as the instructor of record for numerous courses at the university as well as an attending optometric physician in the clinic. 

Dr. Falco has authored numerous posters and has peer reviewed articles for the American Optometric Association Journal and Review of Optometry. Her posters and publications cover a broad spectrum of topics in optometry.

In 2018 she decided to leave the university to fulfill her personal career goal of owning a private practice.  She is excited to start this next chapter of her optometric career.

Ken Zorovich graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a major in Finance. In addition, Ken is also a licensed Residential Mortgage Loan Officer. He began his mortgage industry career by accepting a position as a Mortgage Specialist with Family America Mortgage in 2001. Proof that hard work pays off, Ken was able to increase his production every year which resulted in him being considered a top producer year in and year out with the company. After spending almost seven years with the same company, Ken felt it was time to apply the knowledge and skills he had developed over the years by venturing out with his former boss and longtime friend Dan Longman to form Priority Lending Corp. Ken serves as Branch Manager and is also a Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist. Ken is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers and the Miami Association of Realtors. In addition, Ken is part of Business Network International (BNI) and the Davie/Cooper City Chamber of Commerce. Ken’s business endeavors are supported and motivated by his loving wife and two children.
