Are you resting…but still waking up tired, overwhelmed, stressed, or mentally exhausted?
What if the problem isn't that you need MORE rest—but that you need a different kind of rest? In this episode of the Good News at Work podcast, we're talking about biblical rest: what the Bible says about rest, how to find true rest in God, and the difference between biblical rest and the Sabbath. Because you can sit on the couch all evening and never actually rest. You can take a vacation and bring your anxiety with you. And you can stop working while your brain continues running a 24-hour customer service center for every problem in your life.
😬 So what does Jesus mean when He says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" in Matthew 11:28? That's what we're digging into. If you've been dealing with burnout, stress, anxiety, an overloaded schedule, people pleasing, overthinking, difficulty slowing down, or simply feeling spiritually exhausted, this conversation may help you rethink what "rest" actually looks like from a Christian perspective. We'll explore biblical principles for finding peace and rest in God, why trusting God is such an important part of genuine rest, and some practical ways to stop carrying responsibilities and worries that were never yours to carry in the first place.
And yes—we're also going to tackle an interesting question: Are resting wrong?
This episode includes encouragement, practical biblical advice, a little tough love and, hopefully, a few laughs along the way. If you're tired of being tired, give this one a watch. You may discover that biblical rest has a lot less to do with doing nothing—and a lot more to do with learning to trust God with what happens when you do.

What if some of the thoughts causing you the most worry, comparison, people-pleasing and need for control…aren't even true? You don't have to believe everything you think.
In this episode of Good News at Work, we're getting practical about what the Bible means when it tells us to "take every thought captive" in 2 Corinthians 10:5—and, more importantly, how to actually do it when your mind starts running away from you.
Because one thought can quickly become an assumption. An assumption can become worry. Worry can turn into overthinking. And before you know it, you've spent an hour trying to solve a problem that hasn't even happened yet.
Sound familiar?
We'll talk about how unchecked thoughts can lead to worry, comparison, people-pleasing and trying to control things that were never ours to control. Then we'll walk through four simple, biblical steps you can use when you notice your thoughts getting away from you.
You'll also learn what to do when you don't catch the thought right away—because sometimes we realize we're spiraling after we've already spent 45 minutes mentally preparing for twelve things that may never happen.
This isn't about pretending everything is fine, ignoring real problems or replacing negative thoughts with fake positivity.
We'll look at what 2 Corinthians 10:5, Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:8, Matthew 6 and 1 Peter 5:7 teach us about our thoughts, worry, renewing our minds and trusting God with what we cannot control.
If you struggle with overthinking, worrying about the future, comparing yourself to others, people-pleasing, negative thoughts or needing to control outcomes, this episode is for you.
Your thoughts can be loud and still be wrong.
Let's learn how to capture them, bring them back to what is true and give God what was never ours to carry in the first place.

Grief changes us—but it doesn't have to separate us from God.
Losing someone you love is one of life's deepest pains, and for Christians, it often comes with unexpected questions. If God is good, why does this hurt so much? If we trust Him, why does grief sometimes shake our faith instead of strengthening it?
In this honest and encouraging episode of Good News at Work, we explore the tension between faith and grief. We'll talk about why grief feels so overwhelming, why it's normal to wrestle with questions after a loss, what the Bible teaches about mourning, and why even Jesus wept.
You'll discover that grief isn't a sign of weak faith—it's often a reflection of deep love. More importantly, you'll be reminded that God isn't waiting for you to "get over it." He meets us in our sadness, our confusion, and our unanswered questions with His presence, comfort, and hope.
If you're grieving the loss of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, or anyone you deeply loved—or if you're walking alongside someone who is—this conversation is for you.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Whether your loss is recent or happened years ago, our prayer is that this episode reminds you that you are not alone, your questions don't scare God, and His goodness is still present—even in the middle of heartbreak.
