  • BSOM122: How to Fulfill Your Divine Purpose in Life [Audio]
    By Tom Shanklin

God has a purpose for your life, and it's greater than you think!

His purpose for you is connected with His grand purpose, which is to fill the earth with His glory.

As you put yourself in position to hear from Him, meditate His Word, allow yourself to dream big dreams and begin to walk out your purpose, you will begin to see it come to pass.

This message will inspire, encourage and inform you how to fulfill your divine purpose in life.

This message is a part of the Online Believers School of Ministry.

    Notes…

    VISIONS, DREAMS, AND PURPOSES

“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:1-4, KJV. “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14, KJV.

MAIN THOUGHT: We can accomplish God’s purpose as we receive God’s vision, release our creative capacity to dream, discover our purpose and act upon these things.

WE BEGIN TO RELEASE THE POTENTIAL OF GOD WHEN WE RECEIVE JESUS!

“…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3, KJV.

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:23, KJV.

Habakkuk said I’m gonna get up on the tower. I’m going to submit myself to God and begin to get a higher perspective. I’m going to listen to Him and be corrected as needed. I’m going to get out of my rebellion and chose God’s will. Only then could he hear from God.

THE VISION OF OUR LIFE IS FORMED THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2, KJV.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:8, 9, KJV.

Your devotional life, meditating God’s Word, anointed teaching produces the mind of Christ. Terry Law.

WE CAN ACCOMPLISH WHAT WE BELIEVE WE CAN ACCOMPLISH

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13, KJV.

Many times God’s people are living under a lie about their capacity to accomplish things for God. We must believe in the greatness of God. David was able to slay the giant, because he believed that he could. He believed that the God that was with him was greater than the devil that was in Goliath.  Don’t live under the little “g.” What we accomplish in life has more to do with our own limitations, expectations, and aspirations than the will of God. We limit God by our doubt, fears and failure to act upon the will of God. In order to accomplish something, we must believe that we can… (2 Cor. 10:3-5)

“Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh,

  • BSOM251: The Devotional Life of a Minister with Thai Translation [Audio]
    By Tom Shanklin

I thought you would enjoy this message I taught at Living Word Ministries International Bible School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It's on the very important subject of the devotional life of a minister of the Gospel.

The message focuses in particular on the need for ministers of the Gospel to read, study, meditate and practice God's Word. This is God's only way for the minister to have the power for a successful ministry.

The students were very excited and receptive to the Word.

Play podcast in a new window.

Tom teaching at Bible School in Chiang Mai.

    MINISTERS DEVOTIONAL LIFE

Here's some of the key scriptures and main points:

    The Need to Know God

“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” Philippians 3:8-10, KJV.

    Relating to God's Word…

    * Read it

“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” 1 Timothy 4:13, KJV.

    2. Study it

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15, KJV.

    3. Meditate it

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8, KJV.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:1-3, KJV.

    4.Do it!

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:21-25, KJV.

  • How to Overcome Sickness and Disease [Audio]
Praying for the sick in India.

You can overcome sickness and disease!

Thank God for the many miraculous healings we have seen. But while we rejoice in the instant  healings, I have a burden for those who do not receive the manifestation of their healing right away. Too often, they go away discouraged thinking, "I guess God did not want to heal me."

Not everyone is healed instantly, but that does not mean that healing is not for you. Sometimes you need to stand in faith for your healing, get into the presence of God, and resist the devil.

This message gives you WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS about divine healing, and not man's tradition. On this podcast sermon:

    * You will learn that divine healing is a firmly established Bible doctrine.
    * You will hear testimonies of people  who stood in faith and received their healing.
    * You will receive major keys to actually tapping into the power of God overcome sickness.

Take this opportunity to feed upon God's healing Word…and be healed, in Jesus name.
    Sermon notes…
HOW TO OVERCOME SICKNESS AND DISEASE
“<> Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalms 103:1-5, KJV.        crowneth—to compass or surround.

M.T.: You can overcome sickness by persistent faith and resisting the devil and keeping your shield up.

DIVINE HEALING IS A BIBLE DOCTRINE

Exodus 15:26—I am the Lord that healeth thee

Isaiah 53:4-6 YLT—Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains -- he hath carried them…

Mt. 8:17—“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”

1 Peter 2:24“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Mark 16:18, KJV. “…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

James 5:14, 15 “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

-God is capable of healing you: “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.” Psalms 105:37, KJV.

-AG doctrinal statement—healing is in the atonement

-Episcopalians—their scholars studied divine healing and concluded that it’s biblical.

In reality, there is nothing controversial about it. It’s an established Bible doctrine.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO STAND TO RECEIVE YOUR HEALING

I have a burden for the sick, because I know what a misery it is. I have seen people healed miraculously and instantly by the power of God. Praise God for that. But too often, when someone does not receive an instant manifestation, they think, “Healing must not be for me.” Or, “God must not want to heal me.”

Man in Marshall instantly healed, but it doesn’t always work that way. Hendricks man healed of heart pain. At Country Church, couple receives a miracle child 9 months after prayer.

Two twins: both healed, but two different ways.

Dodie Osteen: Liver cancer, prayed for by the “best.” But she needed to personally lay hold of her healing. She got her eyes off herself,

  • Resuscitating Your Dreams with Susan Shanklin [Audio]
    A Message by Susan Shanklin

Where's your dream? Is it sinking into oblivion? Is it about to breathe its last breath? Is it lying under the dust that has settled after the storms of life came?

It's time to call 911 and start CPR! It's time to judge God faithful and to believe again for the restoration of those things that He has put in your heart.

Listen and laugh with Susan as she applies God's defibrillator to your heart. You'll be encouraged and lifted up to catch the wind of God in your sail and to move forward with your God-given dream and purpose.

Here's the notes, but the message doesn't follow them exactly:

    RESUSCITATING YOUR DREAMS

    By Susan Shanklin

Sometimes we go through life like an old farmer with a team of horses plowing the same field over and over again.

It seems right but you’re not making any process. Yes you bring in a crop but in your heart your are wanting more. More success. More joy. More satisfaction.

People have told you to stay on that certain plot of land. Don’t you dare look over the fence. Don’t you dare buy new horses. “Them old nags are good enough for you.”

Maybe they are telling you you are just not cut out for farming. Your dad was a bad farmer so you must be a bad farmer. (sometimes you’re really good at something and people keep telling you to do it over and over again)

You planted the wrong crop. You had crop failure. You made mistakes.

MAYBE you''re a good farmer! But that’s not what you want to do.

But what does GOD say? Has GOD put a dream in your heart that hasn’t come to pass YET?

God never gave up on you, so don’t give up on yourself!

God told Abram in Genesis 12 that He would bless him and make him a great nation. Abram was 75 yrs old.

Gen 16 Abram lost faith at 86 and had Ishmael.

Gen 17 Abram was 99 and the Lord said you shall be the father of a multitude of nations and changed his name. Sarah was 90!

Heb 11:12 Therefore from one man who was as good as dead, sprang so many a multitude as the stars of the sky and innumberable as the sand by the seashore.

    worn out

2a) of an impotent old man

Heb11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received the ability to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Hew 10:35-36 Therefore do not throw away your confidence which will be greatly rewarded.

For you need patience so that after you have done the will of God you will receive the promise!

Don’t throw away your dreams. Don’t throw away your visions.

Failure is the not the end. It’s the start of a new beginning.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

You just can’t keep doing the same thing over again and get to that NEW place.

    Joseph

Gen 37 Joseph’s brother said here comes the master of dreams.

If you are a grounded dreamer. A God dreamer some people just can’t seem to handle it.

With hatred Joseph’s brother decided to kill him but he was spared and put in a well. A dry well.

His own flesh and blood turned on him! Quick FYI that does not make God happy.

They put him in a well…hanging there. Twisting turning. In the dark. Hearing words of death.

Are you twisting and hanging there in pain and despair? Has God left me?

  • Goody Two Shoes Sinners [Audio]
    By Tom Shanklin

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23, KJV.

Many of us knew that we were sinners before we came to Christ. It was obvious! But for others it may be more difficult to discern.

They live pretty good lives. They look good on the outside. They pay their bills. They don't steal or kill, but inwardly there is no change. They are still in their sins. These are goody two shoes sinners, and the first step in their salvation to recognize their need for the forgiveness that only comes through Jesus Christ.

This podcast comes from a radio broadcast I did with Pastor Norm Gullingsrud on KRJB Radio in Ada, Minnesota.

Below are some of the scriptures mentioned in the message:

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3:19-26, KJV.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12, KJV.

“But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.” Matthew 21:28-32, KJV.

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” Matthew 23:27, 28, KJV.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9, 10, KJV.

    The ABCs of Salvation

    * ADMIT you are a sinner.
    * BELIEVE that Jesus died for your sins personally and rose again.
    * CONFESS that Jesus Christ is Lord (ruler) of your life and follow Him.

God has a wonderful future planned for His children. As the scripture says, “…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9, KJV. Heaven will be more glorious than any of us can imagine. God’s presence and love permeates the entire atmosphere, and He wants you there with Him.

  • You are the Light of the World [Audio]

    By Tom Shanklin

Did you ever think about it? Jesus said, "You are THE light of the world." If it were not for you, the world would be in complete and utter darkness. But because of you, the world has light.

As followers of Christ, we can let our light shine brightly so that the world may clearly see and comprehend Jesus Christ. “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” Ephesians 5:8, KJV.

In this podcast you will learn:

    * That the words "light" and "glory" are not just metaphors, but spiritual realities.
    * How your life can matter wherever you go every day.
    * That you are truly the hope for this dark world.
    * How you can turn up the dimmer switch in your life
    * Plus 10 tips for reaching others for Jesus

Listen and enjoy this inspiring and encouraging message. Use the notes and let it sink in through meditation.

Truly, you are the light of the world!

Notes: YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16, KJV.

Joh 8:12* Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joh 9:5* As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;” Philippians 2:15, KJV.

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” Ephesians 5:8, KJV.

MAIN THOUGHT: By walking in the light of God’s glory, and letting it shine, you provide illumination for the people around you to find their way to Jesus.

Light: illuminates so you don’t stumble, gives warmth, makes things grow. Everything is a product of light. Coal, oil, plants, animals, all life is based on the light (energy) of the sun.

City on a hill—not normal to be a closet Christian. ONLY 3 percent of the churches are growing by evangelism. Why? Most Christians don’t evangelize. Only 1/3 have ever done anything about the Great Commission.

Lifestyle evangelism is what you do every day where you live, where you work, where you shop to reach others for Jesus. But 80 to 90 percent of people who come to the Lord come as the result of the witness or invitation of a friend or relative.

    TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS

    See 2 Cor. 3:7-18

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-7, KJV.

Glory—not a metaphor, manifested presence of God; tabernacle in the wilderness, Solomon’s temple. Ezekiel,

  • Enjoying Your Time with Jesus: Successful Devotions [Audio]

    By Tom Shanklin

One of the great joys of my life is the time I spend with the Lord each day.

I have found this daily time in prayer and the Word of God to be a great source of refreshing and strength, with blessings that have spilled over into my life in many ways.

Some of the benefits that come to mind are:

    * Guidance and wisdom in affairs of life
    * Recognizing God’s voice
    * A constant supply of spiritual substance and strength
    * Stability
    * Victory over temptation
    * Development of your ministry
    * Answered prayer.

Although the value of a daily devotional time are evident, many Christians struggle in this important exercise. And if you view it as a religious duty, it can become drudgery. But if you tap into the beauty and wonder of experiencing God's presence and fellowship each day, it can become a delightful discipline.

It is my desire to see you enjoy your devotional time with Jesus each day. This podcast is more on the quiet side. It's a teaching and sharing time. It's not preaching, but I believe it will encourage you as you listen and apply the principles in your life. The notes are below as well.

    ENJOYING YOUR TIME WITH JESUS

    READING: John 14:15-16, John 15.7, John 16:27, 17:3

MAIN THOUGHT: You can enjoy and greatly benefit from spending time with God in prayer and in His Word.

Today, I want to talk to you about your daily devotional time, some times called morning devotions, quiet time, or time with Him. My goal is to help you understand the benefits, give you some keys and techniques that have worked for me, and help you experience the joy of spending time with the Lord alone. I recommend family devotions, too, but besides that, we all need our one-on-one time with the Lord.

So often in the things of God, what we encourage and teach can be translated in people’s minds as a duty, and it can become a drudgery if it becomes merely a religious work, it is totally unfruitful.

“Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.” Luke 18:10-12, KJV.

“And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:” Luke 15:29.

Lets’ go from duty and drudgery to discipline and delight. Discipline is a normal part of relationships. Discipline is a part of healthy relationships. Ex. Pick up your socks, control your tongue, provide for you family, etc.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalms 37:4, KJV.

RELATIONSHIP—marriage, you don’t have the marriage ceremony, kiss the bride and then come home and live in separate bedrooms. You fellowship, you cultivate the relationship, you love one another, and share life together. That’s what our life is to be like with the Lord. So, don’t receive this as another thing you have to do. Just think of the great privilege that we have to meet with the King of Kings & the creator of universe every day. This fellowship will then carry on throughout your day. Pray without ceasing. Meditate day and night.

Some helps and techniques… (seasons, a living relationship)

    * Devotional books (Find one that builds your faith) Helps to get into the discipline.
    * Reading plans
    * The Lord’s prayer as an outline
    * Praying in tongues for one hour
    * Using scripture lists

  • God’s Plan to Bless the Nations [Audio]
    By Tom Shanklin

When we look at the problems in the world today, we may be tempted to wonder if God knows what He is doing. But truth be known, He has had a plan all along and He is bringing it to completion through the events that are taking place in the earth.

Jesus prepared us for the end of this age while He was on the earth.  And He gave us direction for what we are to do in these days. He said:

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:6-8, KJV.

Jesus said that these troubles are the "beginning of sorrows." They are not the end, they are the beginning of a transition to something better. The definition of the Greek word translated sorrows is "birth pains." Now birth can be a difficult and traumatic experience, but when the child comes, there is a new reality, a beautiful new life. This is what God has planned for us, a new reality and a beautiful new life.

It is important that we don't become overwhelmed with the sorrows and problems that are in the world and miss the point of God's Plan for the Nations. God wants to bring blessing out of the sorrow. God wants to bring peace out of the pain. God wants to bring life out of death. And you and I have a vital part in that plan.

We see that from the beginning God's plan has always been to bless the nations. He told Abraham, “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:18, KJV. That seed is Jesus. God's plan is to bless the nations through Jesus! That is why I believe that the key to understanding God's plan for us in the end times is Matthew 24:14:

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14, KJV.

He didn't say that the end will come when there are wars and rumors of wars.

He didn't say the end will come when the anti-Christ takes over.

He didn't say the end will come when the wrong person is elected in the U.S. or when ISIS pulls off a terrorist plot or when............

He said when we get the job done of preaching the Gospel in all the nations (ethnic groups) in this world, then the Lord is going to wrap things up in this age, send His Son back to earth, and establish His Kingdom here.

Folks, brighter days are ahead! A wonderful kingdom is about to be established. These skirmishes that we are facing here and now are nothing compared to the glory of God that will be revealed to us and through us as the sons of God in the coming age.

I encourage you to listen to this message I preached on this subject. It will help you to not get all wrapped up in the problems of this world. It will  help you to not waste your time fighting opinion battles with the people of this world. We are not called to fight the world! We are called to win the world! We are called to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The Good News that Jesus died for our sins and rose again is the only message that will save humanity and change our present reality.

So, what shall we do in the face of these problems? Go to the nations (including our own) and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom. Preach Jesus the King, and call men and women, boys and girls to surrender their lives to Him. That's our business. That's our focus, and that's how we will see the fulfillment of God's plan to bless the nations.

Be blessed and enjoy your part!!!

Do you see yourself the way God sees you or is the image inside of you something that you received from past experiences or the traditions of man.

Your imagination can be a great tool for good or evil, blessings or curses. God has a blessing plan for your life. When you receive Jesus Christ He delivers you from the power of every curse. But if you continue to have the wrong picture on the inside, it will greatly hinder God's work in your life. The image you have on the inside can either help or hinder you from cooperating with God's blessing plan.

Only the Word of God can paint the appropriate picture on the tablet of your heart, so that you can flow with God's plan for your life.

Listen to this encouraging podcast to ignite your imagination to release the great power of God in your life.

Notes: HARNESSING YOUR IMAGINATION FOR BLESSINGS

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14, KJV).

TEXT: O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee: And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision. (1 Chronicles 29:18-19, KJV).

MAIN THOUGHT: Both in our individual lives, and corporately, we can harness our imaginations for bring forth blessings in the earth.

    THE POWER OF IMAGINATION

Imagination—def) the formation of a mental image of something that is neither perceived as real nor present to the senses. People speak disparagingly, “Oh that’s just your imagination.” However, imagination is a powerful tool when properly harnessed. Imagination created the light bulb, the United States, great buildings, great organizations, etc. And “the imagination of the heart” is key to moving in the things of God. Gal 3:14 . . . that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith. This goes beyond mental imaging. Consider Heb. 11:1:

(Amp) Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title-deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality—faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17, KJV).

HARNESSING THE IMAGINATION OF A GROUP

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. (Genesis 11:6-7, KJV).

Through the united vision of the people of Babylon, God saw that they would accomplish that which they had set them to do. In order to stop this ungodly project, it was necessary for him to confound their languages.

If people could unite, so powerfully, for an ungodly purpose, and not be restrained except by an act of God, how much potential could be unleashed by God’s people operating in the direction of the Holy Spirit and according to the expressed will of God in the scriptures, uniting and harnessing their imaginations.

Our church is like a canvass, waiting to be painted.
