Many people do not realize the awesome power that is available to them through the precious blood of Jesus. It’s not our good works that save us. It’s what Jesus did on Calvary. When He cleanses us by His blood, we are changed from the inside out. This message reveals how you can enjoy the blessings of God by applying the blood of Jesus over your life.

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” 1 Peter 1:18-21, KJV.

Main Thought: The Blood of Jesus sets you free.  Value the Blood. Honor the Blood. Believe in the Blood. Plead the blood. Remember the Blood. 

Tom’s Testimony: Precious is the blood of the lamb, which was shed for you.” To me the blood is personal. It’s not just a Bible doctrine. It means God loves me.

The blood is precious because…

Precious (timios) as of a great price, precious, held in honour, esteemed, especially dear.

If His blood is precious, then you are precious, because it paid for you. 

God SO loved. John 3:16

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (John 1:29, KJV).

CHRIST OUR PASSOVER IS SACRIFICED FOR  US

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:” 1 Corinthians 5:7, KJV.

“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:13, KJV.

Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. (Exodus 12:21-23, KJV).

WE ARE IN COVENANT WITH GOD THROUGH THE BLOOD

“For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28, KJV.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:10-12, KJV.

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,” Hebrews 13:20, KJV.

“As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.” Zechariah 9:11, KJV.

WE ARE CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:7-9, KJV.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:7, KJV).

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14, KJV.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9:22, KJV).

You can scrub and scrub and never come clean, but the blood of Jesus effectively cleanses you from all sin.

WE HAVE LIFE THROUGH THE BLOOD

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11, KJV).

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:53-54, KJV).

WE HAVE ACCESS TO GOD THROUGH THE BLOOD

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:19-23, NKJV).

HOW TO APPROPRIATE THE BLOOD

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11, KJV.

And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. (Exodus 12:7, KJV).

Plead the blood…

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.” Isaiah 43:25, 26, KJV.

Do this in remembrance of me…proclaim the Lord’s death. 1 Cor. 11:23-32

Hello, Tom Shanklin here. It’s great to be with you today. I want to share something with you that’ll help you to understand what you can do to help your nation.

I want to talk about power to heal a nation. Sometimes we feel helpless, don’t we? We feel like there’s nothing we can do. There are so many problems all around us, and so many problems in the government or in the schools or in our communities and in our nation and relationships.

But God has an answer, you know? God is the answer. Jesus is the answer for the world today and sometimes it’s a little upsetting that people don’t understand this, that Jesus can help the United States or the United Kingdom or wherever you live. God loves you and he loves your nation and he has a tremendous plan for you and for your nation.

But we need to line up with the Lord and God has given us his word to help us to line up with him. And I want you just to sit back and relax and enjoy the word of God just for a few moments. We’re not going to talk long but I want you just to let the Holy Spirit speak to you about God’s plan for your nation and how that his power can truly make a difference in this world.

In 2 Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14 it says, if my people, are you his people? Do you belong to the Lord? Well he says, if my people that are called by my name, see, his people are called by his name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face. You see, we need to humble ourselves. We need to realize that all the things that we can do in the natural are really not going to heal the land.

Pointing the finger at others is not going to heal the land. But if we look inside and say, well what can I do? How can I be a good neighbor? How can I follow the Lord and bring change to my nation? And just recognize that we need the Lord. That’s humbling yourself.

Amen. That’s realizing I’m not the answer. You know, I’m not the answer but Jesus is the answer.

So we humble ourselves and we pray and we seek his face because that’s talking about drawing near to the Lord spiritually. You see, we can have fellowship with the Lord. You can come to him and actually encounter him and have an interaction with him.

You can hear his voice and you can feel his love. You can receive his hugs and kisses. You know, he loves you so much and he wants you to come into his presence where he can impart things to you and bring life into your situation and bring healing into your home and into your family and into your nation.

Praise God. Power to heal a nation comes from God. Amen.

And it’s as his people draw near to him that he can bring his mighty power to bear and bring his love through you and I to touch a nation. Whether it be through prayer or the words that we speak or our actions or whatever way. But God supernaturally empowers his people to bring change.

But you see, we have to do it his way, not our way. Amen. We have to listen to the Holy Spirit.

We have to let the love of God which is shed upon our heart flow out to people. Amen. So if my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.

Well, you see, he says that we need to turn from our wicked ways. So often we’re pointing the finger at this group or this person or this politician or we’re pointing our finger every which way except back this way. You know, something I heard years ago, it’s like if you’re pointing the finger, there’s three pointing back at you.

So, you know, the first thing we need to do is we need to look inside. We need to judge ourself. You know, the Bible said judgment begins in the house of the Lord.

And that’s what we need to do. We need to look inside. We need to say, well, am I really following the Lord? You know, Jesus told us two things that we need to do.

You know, I mean, we can search the scriptures and find a lot of commandments. But Jesus said, kind of all boils down to this. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul.

Amen. Put the Lord first. Don’t have idols.

And love your neighbor as yourself. You know what would heal our nation? If we loved our neighbor as ourself. You say, well, who’s my neighbor? Well, Jesus told a story about that, about the good Samaritan.

You know, he was different. He was kind of an outcast. And, you know, he talked about how a couple of religious leaders went by this man that had been stolen from, robbed and beaten, you know, and they walked past and ignored the situation.

But then there was the good Samaritan. He walked by and he picked up the man that was broken on the Jericho road. And he cared for him and nurtured him and took him to an inn and took care of him.

We need to take care of one another. We need to love one another. We need to be considerate about other people and their needs.

You know, it says in Philippians, it says, look not every man to his own needs only, but to the needs of others. Amen. We’re to focus on others.

Jesus, that’s what Jesus did. That’s the, that’s the Jesus style. Jesus laid down his life for others.

He, in fact, he laid down his, his life for his enemies. You know, you may think, well, I’ve got some enemies. They’re, they’re against me.

They think different than me. They’re opposing me. They’re hurting me.

Jesus said, love them. He said, pray for those that despitefully persecute you. Amen.

That’s the Jesus way. That’s the Jesus style. Amen.

And we can do that. You know why? Because the Holy Spirit lives in us. Amen.

Now we’ve got this flesh. We’ve got our natural side that wants to do the wrong things, but I want to tell you in the power of the Holy Spirit, you can do the right thing. And Jesus loves you.

He has empowered you to be a witness, to walk in the Holy Spirit. So if my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven. It’s time for Christians to pray because that’s where the power is to change a nation.

It’s time for you and me to pray. And as we pray, pray according to the word of God, pray for God to bless people, pray for God to bless our leaders with wisdom and compassion and understanding, pray for, you know, things to be done correctly and righteously. Amen.

You know, what am I saying? Let’s don’t just pray our politics, you know, our opinions. Let’s pray the word of God. Amen.

And I believe we’ll see results. Amen. Let’s turn to the Lord.

Let’s turn back to his word, you know, and see where does it fit with me? What needs to change in me to change my community, to change my family, to change a nation? I’ll tell you, God has so many good plans for us. Oh, he says, I know the thoughts I have towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope. I’m telling you, God’s excited about blessing you, about blessing your family, about blessing your community, about blessing your nation.

And he wants to use you for a great, great move of God. I’m talking about power to change a nation. So let’s just pray.

We’ll just take a minute and pray. Just why don’t you just put your hand on your heart and say, dear Father, thank you for Jesus. I believe he died for me and I believe he rose again.

And Lord, I do what you say today. I seek your face. I pray.

I turn from everything wrong in my life and I trust you to make my heart right in Jesus name. And Father, I pray for my nation that it would be healed. And start right here, Lord.

Heal me. Heal my heart. Heal my thinking.

Heal my lips that I wouldn’t speak perverse things and heal my actions. Help me to be a blessing to the people around me. In Jesus name, I pray.

And all the people said, amen. God bless you. Great to talk with you today.

This message was preached at North Woods Community Church, near the headwaters of the St. Croix River, an area which has received powerful prophecies of a great move of God before the return of the Lord.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she will not be moved; God will help her in the early dawn. (Psalms 46:4-5, MEV).

MT: God’s river will flow through you in a greater way, and you will be part of His great plan to bring forth His presence and power … and to bring salvation to the earth.

Two separate, almost identical prophecies given by two missionaries who did not know one another in 1948 predicted that just before Jesus returns there would be a great move of God beginning at the headwaters of the St. Croix and affecting the area 100 miles east and west of the entire St. Croix River, bringing salvation, healing, and restoration before the Lord returns. These prophecies stated that there would be miracles in finances, healing, and deliverance, as well as a return to biblical living.

Your destiny… not just potential

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; (1Timothy 1:18, KJV).

A water libation ceremony, known in Judaism as Nissuch Ha-Mayim, was a joyous ritual during the ancient Jewish Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) where priests would draw water from the Pool of Siloam and pour it onto the altar in the Temple, symbolizing prayers for rain and spiritual salvation. This popular, music-filled event featured processions, trumpets, and joyous crowds.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3, KJV).

Rev 22:1-5 Pure river of the water of life; we are drinking of only the foretaste of heaven’s river.

CONFESSION UNTO SALVATION

Romans 10:5-13

… and it says, in effect, “If you openly admit by your own lips that Jesus is the Lord, and if you believe in your own heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” 10 For it is believing in the heart that makes a man righteous before God, and it is stating his belief by his own lips that confirms his salvation. (Romans 10:9-10, Philips).

Father, I BELIEVE Jesus died for me and rose again. I believe He is my Savior.

I CONFESS Jesus is my Lord!

I CONFESS Jesus is my healer. 

I CONFESS Jesus is my deliverer. Him who the son sets free is free indeed. 

I CONFESS Jesus is my Good Shepherd. He is leading me and guiding me.

‭And‭ his‭ name‭ through‭ faith‭ in his‭ name‭ hath made‭‭ this man‭ strong‭‭, whom‭ ye see‭‭ and‭ know‭‭: yea‭, the faith‭ which is‭‭ by‭ him‭ hath given‭‭ him‭ this‭ perfect soundness‭ in the presence‭ of you‭ all‭.‭ (Acts 3:16, KJV).

Today, I want to encourage you to use the name of Jesus to overcome the enemy and to see miracles. Jesus has given you His name as a weapon to bring victory in your life and ministry.

When you use His name, you are invoking all that Jesus is, all that He has done, and all that He can do. When you speak the name, it releases the power of all of His redemptive work of forgiveness, healing, and victory over the devil.

It’s not enough to know the name of Jesus, you must use that name in faith. Miracles happen through “His name through faith in His name.” You can activate miracles now by using the name of Jesus!

READING: Acts 3:1-8

Main Thought: Use the name of Jesus to overcome the devil and all of his plans and operations.

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.” (Acts 3:6-7, KJV)

‭And‭ he said‭‭ unto them‭, Go ye‭‭ into‭ all‭ the world‭, and preach‭‭ the gospel‭ to every‭ creature‭.‭ ‭He that believeth‭‭ and‭ is baptized‭‭ shall be saved‭‭; but‭ he that believeth not‭‭ shall be damned‭‭.‭ ‭And‭ these‭ signs‭ shall follow‭‭ them that believe‭‭; In‭ my‭ name‭ shall they cast out‭‭ devils‭; they shall speak‭‭ with new‭ tongues‭;‭ ‭They shall take up‭‭ serpents‭; and if‭ they drink‭‭ any‭‭ deadly‭ thing‭, it shall not‭ hurt‭‭ them‭; they shall lay‭‭ hands‭ on‭ the sick‭, and‭ they shall‭‭ recover‭.‭ (Mark 16:15-18, KJV).

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11, KJV)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14, NKJV).

“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” (Acts 3:16, KJV)

And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. (Acts 19:14-16, KJV).

CONCLUSION: Use the name of Jesus to win the lost, heal the sick, and cast out devils. Use the name of Jesus to move Satan out of your path. You have a job to do, and you have been given the equipment to get it done!
