June 30ths sermon was an exploration of why sometimes we want what we want more than what we know God wants.

This last Sunday was Trinity Sunday. The Sunday immediately following Pentecost Sunday is Trinity Sunday. On Trinity Sunday we proclaim the mystery of our faith in the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One-in-Three and Three-in-One. What this means is that God is one in essence and three in persons. These designations express three crucial truths: (1) The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct Persons (2) each Person is fully God, (3) there is only one God. The reality is that there is one God who exists as three persons.

Have you ever had to leave your home to follow loved ones to another place? How did you deal with the changes? Have you had to make difficult life changing decisions that impacted every aspect of your life? For the next two weeks we will explore the story of two women who had to deal with these very questions.
