Today, we finish our sermon series called Our House. When you ask someone what they think about the church, be prepared for any response. What they say may inspire feelings of anger, sadness, joy, or hope, depending on what they have experienced in their dealings with believers. So, what should the church be about? Join us as we explore how we can be a church that glorifies Jesus.
1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
2. Have you ever experienced a church split? How did it shape how you deal with church conflict?
3. Why is it important to be in community with other believers?
4. Does church feel like a safe place to you? How can you help create a church culture where others will feel comfortable being vulnerable with their struggles and hurts?
5. How does living in community with people who annoy, challenge, or irritate us help us grow in maturity? How can you learn to appreciate these “character builders” in your life?
6. How can you differentiate between spiritual abuse (or other forms of abuse) and merely learning to live with others in community? How can you confront abuse if you encounter it? How is doing so actually loving?
7. How can we encourage and pray for each other as we live into God's ways this week?
