2. In Medway and beyond we have a dream of a church that effectively demonstrates the gospel is ‘good news to the poor’ in a variety of life transforming ways.  

Adam was with us this Sunday – and challenging! As Jesus said, the poor will always be with us.  2012 landmark research by Economic and Social Research Council shows that, in the UK, about 1/3 of households are affected. 

4 million people not fed properly 

2.5 million children in damp homes 

2.3 million households can’t heat living areas of home 

30 million people have financial insecurity 

So what is our answer? Where do we start if we are going to be the Church that God calls us to be; the Church that brings a gospel that is “good news to the poor”?
