Alicia Cook is a poet and activist from New Jersey. Her first collection of poems, “Stuff I’ve Been Feeling Lately”, was a finalist for the 2016 Goodreads Choice Awards. Her second collection, “I Hope My Voice Doesn’t Skip”, was released on June 5th, 2018.
Alicia’s work is honest, melodic, and at once free-flowing and surgical. In this episode we talk about the inspiration for her books, how she uses form to convey her voice, and of the importance of hope.
