How shall we begin a study of the being and the attributes of God? As creatures who have a beginning, the study of the ever-living One, the eternal God, reveals to us the magnificent awesomeness of God's nature, so different from ours. To think that there never was a time when God did not exit, and there never will be a time when he will not exist, is hard for our human minds to grasp. Yet this shows one attribute of the great God of the universe. This revelation only comes to us by the Word through the Spirit - and gives us cause to fall down and worship the great "I AM" - he who was, is now, and ever will be!

In these two verses Judes tell us why he wrote this letter- a great problem had arisen in some of the churches. Some infiltrators had crept in and were teaching false doctrines, seeking to undermine the true doctrines of the once-for-all-delivered-faith, as well as seduce believers into imitating their immoral behavior. -In this passage Jude reminds his readers of the common gospel confession that must be agonizingly protected and warms them of the spiritually mortal danger from subversive underminers. It was a crucial message back then and is the same for us today.

I have a question for us. Are we at times due to our emphasis on what in our understanding or opinion God cannot do anymore, pedaling an impotent, weak and powerless God?

Paul writes the Galatian churches with a heavy heart because the one true gospel he had preached there and by which they had been saved was under siege by rival messages advocating deeds, rituals and laws as necessary additions.-even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.- This sermon presents a review of the rue message before the false messages brought by -angel messengers.-

We are familar with the frequent exhortations to believers to sing to God. It is a command of Scripture. An example is Psalm 92- 1-5 It is good to praise Yahweh,-to sing praise to Your name, Most High,to declare Your faithful love in the morning-and Your faithfulness at night,with a ten-stringed harp and the music of a lyre. For You have made me rejoice, Lord, by what You have done--I will shout for joy because of the works of Your hands.-5 How magnificent are Your works, Yahweh, how profound Your thoughts---You may find it a refreshing revelation that our God sings over the works of his almighty saving hand. Zephaniah 3-17-Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves.-He will rejoice over you with gladness.-He will bring you quietness with His love.-He will delight in you with shouts of joy.---In the days of his earthly ministry Jesus, the Word made flesh sang with his disciples.
