Not every idea that sounds spiritual is rooted in the truth God has revealed in Jesus. Throughout the church’s history, well-intended teachings, traditions, and assumptions have sometimes shaped the way people understand the Christian life in ways that don’t fully reflect what God has actually revealed.
That’s why, in this series, we’ve been slowing down to examine certain beliefs and practices — not to be critical, and not to question the core truths of our faith — but to ask a careful and necessary question: Does this align with what God has revealed in Christ?
This week, we explore the topic of God's blessings.
It’s common to associate God’s blessing with favourable circumstances — provision, success, open doors, or a sense of spiritual experience. Others speak of blessing as something that can be released, spoken over someone, or encountered in a particular moment.
But is that how Scripture actually defines God’s blessing?
In this teaching, we look at how God’s blessing unfolds across Scripture and how it is ultimately revealed in Jesus. Rather than something we chase or wait to receive, we see that God’s greatest blessing has already been given to us in Christ — reconciliation with God, the truth that guides our lives, and the hope of eternal life in His kingdom.
And when we begin to understand that, it reshapes not only how we think about blessing, but how we live — with confidence, stability, and faith in what God has already given.
